8 gb nano vs 30 gb ipod

alright what is goin on, they are both 250 bucks
nano-holds 2000 songs
regualr ipod-holds 7500 and has video............uhhh are they stupid or do they really just not want to sell the new nano 8 gb

Lots of people don't want a 'bulky' full size iPod. The Nanos/Minis have always sold VERY well and will continue to sell well. Lots of people don't have 8 gigs of music, hell lots of people have less than 500 songs on their computer. Lot's of people don't have a need/want to watch video's on the go.

The 30 gig iPod is about to go bye bye, the recent update wasn't a real update, there will be something new for Xmas(Zune killer?).

The features like video/picuters are still kinda geeky anyway. I bet most people don't know how to use their iPod as an external hard drive much less hook it up to their TV.

I don't see how such a tiny space could be worth it. Even if I was blind I would get the video iPod over the nano if they were the same price.

It all depends. My dad got a nano for his birthday a few days ago. He says he prefered it over the big ipod because he's got so much stuff filling up his suitcase as it is (he always travels) and the nano is perfect for space and he also doesen't have billions of songs on his computer, so the nano suites him quite well.

figure this... why would someone pay $250,000.00 for a Ferrari when they could spend $50,000.00 for a RAM Heavy Duty Pickup?

The Pickup holds more.

I like my Nano cause its small and durable and does what I need it to do.

My son likes his video iPod cause it has video and holds his entire collection.

Choices.

The size of the Nano is sweet. It has a different purpose than the full-size older brother.

I have a 2GB Nano and a 60GB video iPod, and I use them both. (I have a 1GB Shuffle too, but it mostly gets used as a USB flash drive nowadays. Great for exercise use though.)

If it was straight from Apple you might be able to swap it for a new model. (If it hasn't arrived yet you might just get surprised with the new one in that case.) If it's from Amazon.com or somewhere else, you might try contacting the shop to see about getting the newer one instead. The credit card company might offer some sort of purchase protection that helps here, too.

The previous version is still a sweet little music player, of course, so your dad shouldn't be unhappy to get one. :)

Argh...just asked my mom, turns out she got it from Target...You see I saw a webpage my mom had up with ipods on it and I say to her "Mom what are you looking at Ipods for, dad's birthday?" And then I see dad sitting on the couch in the same room and I go, "oops..."

So there is a new model and such? I mean she had to of got it on either thursday or friday, anything she can do or will my dad be screwed with the piece of junk outdated ipod nano lol, euther way he still loves it.

Thanks for the link durf, but one question, is there a new nano that's been released or something? I haven't seen any ads or such and how recent was it?

Well I just found out that she bought the 2 gig and she got it for 200 bucks, so I guess the option of trading in and such is out of the question. But hey, my dad still loves his ipod.

Buy an iriver or a creative mp3 player instead. Ipods are just lame fashion accessories. That or just wait for microsofts new player which will probably kick a whole world of arse.
