(7/7 charges) Sept - Planning & Progress

    After fumbling through my 1.13 SC 'Passion' Sept, I figure some better planning/feedback for this Sept might be a good idea.

    The idea for this Sept all began from finding a Bonehew. I always focused on the 50% ctc Bone Spear, and thought that it would make for a great synergized melee Necromancer. As I thought about what a waste the charges of CE would be, I realized 'wouldn't that be great to have CE on other classes.."

    Being that it's a big hurty Polearm, I figured that I would make either a WW Barb, or Fury Druid. I started looking into Item Skill Bonuses, and realized you can get CE charges from Corpsemourn armor as well. Reviewing this list is when I started to think a Sept might be possible..

    The goal is to try and use items with charges that would be “central” to the builds. So, I searched for high-level and high-quantity charge items. It was kind of disappointing. A lot of the charges are just too low level, and even synergized they just don't do much damage. But, there was a lot to choose from. I've tried to utilize at least 3 seperate charge-granting items per build. Any tips/feedback would be appreciated.


    Amazon: (Pandemônio) – (Strafe, Valk, Penetrate + Fire synergies) The annoying thing I've found with Immolation Arrow is that monsters won't stay put to bake in the flames..

    1. Hellrack – 150 charges, lvl 18 Immolation Arrow (synergized: ~900 explosion dmg, ~200 dmg/sec)
    2. Beta 'Delirium' – 60 charges, lvl 17 Attract, ctc Confuse/Terror (Crowd control)
    3. Marrowalk – 13 charges, lvl 33 Bone Prison (Boss control)


    Assassin: (Soeki) – (Venom, Death Sentry, Lightning Sentry .. ???) From reading Tao of Poison, Venom will be applied for entire duration of Plague Javelin?

    1. Gargoyle's Bite – 60 charges, lvl 11 Plage Jav (PJ ~500/7 sec, venom ~500 /0.4 sec = ~9000/7 sec?)
    2. Sureshill Frost – 50 charges, lvl 9 Frozen Orb (Crowd control for Death Sentry)
    3. ???


    Barbarian: (Leichenbombe) – (WW, Pole Mastery .. ???) I thought WW was good choice, because it's not damage focused on one monster. Group of monsters all take a some damage, and then CE first corpse.

    1. Bonehew – 30 charges, lvl 14 Corpse Explosion
    2. Corpsemourn – 40 charges, lvl 5 Corpse Explosion (I know, I'm cheating doubling up CE)
    3. Metalgrid/Spellsteel???


    Druid: (Tropell) – (Grizzly, HotW, + Boulder synergies) Ranged-Summoner. Not sure what else to try with Druid? I wanted to avoid using 'Harmony' (another planned Sept..)

    1. 'Harmony' – 25 charges, lvl 20 Revive (+Valk 0skill)
    2. 'Stone' – 80 charges, lvl 16 Molten Boulder (~300dmg, ~250 fire, ~330/sec)
    3. 'Stone' – 16 charges, lvl 16 Clay Golem


    Necromancer: (Conjuratus) – (Skelle, SM + Bone Synergies) Pretty much any Necro with 20 RS and 20 SM should be fine.. Plan on synergizing ctc Bone Spirit on 'Oath' and ctc Bone Spear on 'Bone'.

    1. Naj's Puzzler – 69 charges, lvl 11 Teleport
    2. 'Oath' – 14 charges, lvl 17 Iron Golem + 20 charges, lvl 16 HotW
    3. Carrion Wind - 15 charges, lvl 21 Poison Creeper


    Paladin: (Sacre) – (Zeal, +Holy Bolt synergies .. Fanatacism?) Holy Bolt for undead damage + Merc healing??

    1. Boneslayer Blade – 200 charges, lvl 20 Holy Bolt (~4000+ dmg, ~225 HP heal)
    2. Darksight Helm – 30 charges, lvl 5 Cloak of Shadows (Crowd control)
    3. Spellsteel? - More Holy Bolt charges..


    Sorceress: (Bruja) – (FCR Fire or FCR Lite??) I really wanted to use Todensfalle Flamme (FW and Enchant charges). But, damage isn't very high, and you can just get fire skills from partial Trang's set. So, just using charge items for crowd control..

    1. Blackhand Key – 30 charges, lvl 13 Grim Ward (Chain Lightning for fleeing enemies!)
    2. 'HotO' – 60 charges, lvl 13 Raven (Blinds target)
    3. 'Sanctuary' – 60 charges, lvl 11 Slow Missile

    I honestly think this is just going to be too tedious. It's a shame they didn't have an affix that regenerated charges, or if they just did that inherently.

    A different idea would be making a kamikaze with these:

    You'd have to use an Act III merc though to get the Nova proc. Just hope lower resist goes of first. Does anyone know if these stack, or is just the highest level proc called on character death?

    I agree. I think it's gonna get expensive recharging.. I'm trying to use "useful" charges, but nothing that will be primary attack. Otherwise, you'd be going back to town every 60 sec.

    Something like this?

    Hey, cool idea really. Tedious, yes, but doable no doubt.

    With characters like these the user needs to engage at using those skills so that they become an essential part of the build. But it seems most of these would have some serious ways of dealing damage as well (Strafe, WW, Zeal, Skeletons..) so I think for the most part this will work quite well.

    I like the ideas you have already, some of them are quite inventive! :p

    I'll comment later if I come up with more/additions with ideas. If you want to get rid of that Harmony, make an Eternity! (level 8 Revives/** charges). But ranged-summoner seems more suited, really. I have myself made Eternity and I think I may make an Enchantress with it at some point.

    And three of the unique rings have charges, but keeping those Druid's spirits alive could be quite challenging.

    Very cool concept !! But yeah, unfortunately sounds like it will also be very tedious I'm afraid.

    Charges of Lower Resist or Life Tap on wands could be really useful, unless you want to stay with only charges from uniques. Some of these characters would like those, I'm sure.

    Yea, 'Eternity' and 'Beast' (Summon Grizzly) were a couple other options. I think 'Eternity' is too expensive for me right now. And 'Beast', kinda feels like a cheat.. Planning on other builds with that anyway.

    I was worried about that as well. Same thing with charges of Golems and Spirit/Dire wolves. All kinda low HP. I figured using the spirits would be good with the 2x summoners. But, Necro already planning on HotW. Maybe I'll add one of the rings to Druid build. At least it would save skill points. You can still only have 1 golem/1 spirit/1 pet, even if they come from charges, right?

    Oh yea, I forgot about wands. Yea, charges of LR would be nice. Also, have wands with Confuse, Weaken, Attract, Dim Vision..

    I just thought of something else I might try. Sorceress seems like she isn't really utilizing charges too heavily. 'Crescent Moon' has nice ctc for Lite Sorc, -35% ELR, and charges of Spirit Wolf. That might work nicely!

    I like that Poison Creeper for Necro. He's all physical damage, except for ctc Bone skills. Most likely to keep creeper alive as well.

    Lovely idea for a sept!
    Do you plan on keeping a nice stash full of spare interesting items with charges beside the main ones?

    Also do we know if charges spawn "equally" on items? For example I bough a Blade with 97 charges of lv5 Life Tap from charsi, but I never compared to wands. Do they have the same range of level/amount of charges? Might be something interesting to know when looking for a perfect rare item with charges.

    I'm gonna try to keep charged items equipped/on switch. But, we'll see how it goes..

    That sounds about the same for wands. I didn't look too carefully, but all mine were lvl 1-5, and 80-90 charges.
