    5 Years of Diablo II

Through the tortured body of a possessed hero, Diablo, Lord of Terror, made his way east from Tristram across the vast deserts surrounding the ancient city of Lut Gholein and ultimately into the bowels of his domain in Hell, where his horrific army was amassing. It was five years ago today that he reunited with his brothers, Mephisto and Baal, in a nefarious new plot to enslave the world of mortals. Despite the awe-inspiring power of the Prime Evils, it seems the sheer will of humanity had been underestimated. For across the world, legions of Necromancers, Amazons, Paladins, Sorceresses, and Barbarians rose to the challenge and again confronted the forces of evil head-on. Blizzard, and indeed the whole of mankind, thank you for your five years of dedication to this noblest of causes.

Well what can I say? All we got for the 5th anniversary is a few sentences.
Not sure if that makes me happy or sad.

Should we celebrate or forget the whole thing?

I still would have added one new item to game as a celebration of the five years. Some kind of jewel or charm in the elite catagory. Can jewels be elite? No? O well.

Funny... I would have sworn D2 is older than 5 years...

I guess the fast pace iin the gaming industry makes old games look even older than they really are :)

    Weird science

By then we'll have genetically engineered a real greater demon who will kick our butts and lay waste to the entire planet.

    Sorry, just watched Hellboy.

5 Years is nothing ? Hmmmm not really, all the opposite. 5 years for a computer game is very very very long time. I am still suprised to see so many people enjoying it after so many years. It certainly proves that the game had/has something that most others don't.

It is the only game that I keep coming back to. I tried Morrowind, Neverwinter Nights, Civ 3, and many others. This one keeps calling me back.

    Happy B-day D2.

Well yes and no, it's sometimes hard to tell when people are being ironic.
