5 year vet is back, hows the economy?

I have decided to start playing again from scratch after playing for 5 years. I would like to know how the economy is?

Last time I played I would use my MF Run Sorc to do meph and act 5 runs until my eyes bleed and then trade those items I didn't want for sojs and then trade the sojs for items that I did want.

I have no idea how to get good items anymore other than rely on random luck. What would you suggest I do now? Do people even trade anymore?

-New world event, uber tristram which introduce some new currency, Keys that drop from either Countess, Fake Summoner or Nil, Organ from either of the Mini Ubers, Torches upon completion of the event. Paladin and Sorc torches can go up to several HRs. It's a good event that didn't reward only the dupers and hacker like the last one.

-New ban policy, multiple instance of D2 on the same PC even with different CD-keys is not allow. Basically, they banned anyone connect to Bnet that share the same IP. This make mulling even harder than before.

-New ban policy, limitation of 20 games/hr, beyond that you get banned from the specific realm that last several hours to days.

oh wow, crazy new ban policies. I hope they are enforced well.

So what would be a good starter plan, to trying to get anything worth of trade value?

I would assume first, get to hell act 5 and then do cow runs until i can get gear for my toon to do key runs? I feel so lost, it's weird. I used to know so much :crazyeyes:

Key runs is your best choice if you have little to no MF. They nerf Cows xp for good, I don't see many hell cow game as much as before. We do Baal run for xp now or Chaos if you're on Classic.

Key running is an easy way to make some money. Also collecting gems until you can trade pgems for runes is also good.

you can also buy some standerd gear for pgems in the trade forums here, nothing too great, but some mid-high level stuff that isn't bad, bust just cheap because it's so common
