45% Res Gilded shield - Worth enough to make phoenix out of?

Is this considered to be an "Elite" shield?
Would this be a good candidate for Phoenix/Exile at all?

Or what is optimal?

Feel free to give me some feedback

Since Phoenix has no "%Enhanced Defense" modifier, there is no real advantage for using an exceptional Paladin shield instead of an elite, IMHO. Some elite Paladin shields do have higher blocking than their exceptional counter-parts. However, The Gilded and Zakarum shields both have the exact same blocking numbers.

BTW, the highest blocking Paladin shield is the Sacred Targe @ 60%.

my exceptional phoenix is the best i've ever seen for zealing. 205 def crown with high block, and low req. has a nice roll too... 458% ed, 121 ar. the duped vortex ones floating around are like 168 def with 44 res.

nope dont make pheonix in that, the smite damage on exceptional shields is too small

...even if you're not going to use it for smite, there are better elite choices despite what Doll Call says.

e.g sacred targes have better smite damage, smaller str req and better block than gilded shields. if you're worried about the small loss in def than maybe use a sacred rondache or a kurast shield
