2000 Runes from Lower Kurast

    Hey all, finally finished my project of 2000 runes from Lower Kurast.
    As some of you might remember, I've done something like this before, as detailed in this thread: 1500 Lower Kurast Runes.

    Mainly started this for an Ohm for a CtA, but it builds a nice base of all types of gear as well as roonz.


    Character Info:
    All runs were done with a level ** Necro
    I used Aldur's Advance 40%, Cats eye amulet 30%, peasant crown 15%, M'avina's tenet 20% and 12 @3% FRW small charms for 141% FRW at first, but swapped in a Tal Rasha's Mask and Nightsmoke for resists after ~1000 runs for 106% FRW at the end.
    A staff with 41 teleport charges was used on switch.

    I find the Necro best for me in this situation. Because of the amount of picking up I was doing I was standing in one place for a few seconds at a time, and I find it useful to be able to throw a Golem in front of any creatures that might be coming my way while sorting. Plus I did my previous project with a Necro (same name even) so nostalgia / superstition.

    I ran with slots 1,2 and 3 in my belt empty, and as I picked up mana / life pots I would chug them to free up space. Slot 4 usually had 4 partial rejuv pots.


    Map Info:
    I hit 3 stable bodies, 1 stable stash, 1 stable skeleton, and up to 7 others each run as well as the superchests.
    All runs were done on the same map, shown below.
    All runs were done on /Players8
    At the end of a run, a town portal was opened, and the waypoint was hit to the Pandemonium Fortress before Save and Exit.

    So 1198 are available for rerolling.
    But.
    Early on I noticed this shrine just off the waypoint.

    So it became part of my routine with a Flawless Amethyst in my stash at all times.
    Not long after I saw this in a superchest hut.

    So while I never (iirc) hit 2 gem shrines in a single run, at least one of them was a shrine often enough to give me 214 extra Perfect Amythysts.

    Finally, the reason for this project.
    All runes from El up were collected.
    I collected 2020 runes in this project.
    I put the runes in 20 stashes of 101 each, a base of 100 and 1 extra for 'luck'.

    Last time I did this I cubed from Pul (included) down up as far as I could and ended up with an extra Pul and 2 Ists from cubing up.
    This time especially with all the Pamy's and Prubies I am not going to be cubing up runes until needed for further crafting.
    Then it will be something like El / Eld / TIr to Nef for Blood Gloves Etc, based on what I decide to craft.

    Some thoughts:
    The Ber on my second lot really helped with inspiration, and made me hope that with one so early I might manage to get 2, but it wasn't to be, still happy with 1 though.

    5 dry spells with nothing above Mal really hurt, even though I had 8 dry spells in my previous 1500 project, so averages actually worked better in this project.

    Quite happy with my first ever Lo rune, even happier to have gotten 2.

    Only 1 Ohm, so hoping for a nice CtA roll.

    Anyway, thats my LK Project done, and I'm quite happy with my loot. I'll most probably return at some point in the future, but for now, I'm finished with LK for a while.

    Gieb runes. Very nice haul pic... So many roonz! Kinda motivation to do some LK's, but I burn out too easily now. :(

    Congrats on the haul, and nice description of your running. Did you compare any to the 1.13LK super chest thread or super runners thread?

    @ Drystan - Hands off my precious. I found it hard sometimes too, but did a 1.07 Sorc run alongside to keep me sane, so that helped, and having only 2 toons since restart, a lot of normal things were 'firsts' like most of the skillers / charms in general, so a lot of the time I was happy with just blue drops.

    @ Bodry - At times I broke it down into little goals, for example, cube up to 10 perfect gems before stopping for the night / find 10 runes, etc. Also it was less than 5K runs, so it wasn't that bad, and as I said above, since this is a fairly fresh restart, a lot of drops were nice even if they weren't runes.
