Do the charms in your stash stack with the damage of a necro poison skill then? i assume most necro's would use pnova, it would be nice if charms stack with that ^^

Well i meant a poison DAGGER necro, obviously :) hehe... Of course I also thought about doing poison javazon as well... maybe even a melee enchantress with poison on top. All could be very useful. A Zealot with poison, hits 5 folks and then they all die from poison, he can move on to the next, etc.

I find lots of utility for high damage poison charms... the useless ones are the +6 poison damage over 10 second kind... those stink.

The other thing would be ... a Venom 'sin using a bow or other weapon (or even BF, Heaven forbid ... :D) A nice thing about Venom is that it totals the damage rating for EVERY source ... and then cuts the duration to .4 sec. So, you're not sitting there waiting for that 100pts/6sec charm to kill something, you're doing (Venom + 100 pts)/.4 sec. Again and again and again and again and again and again ...

Sounds nice, don't it?

Cheers!

Umm... One catch Venom changes the duration to .4 seconds. Ie. if 100 pdamage per 6 seconds then it adds 6.66 pdamage per .4 seconds. Not venom + 100 per .4 seconds. You can actually get your display to read lower by using venom but, the duration is shorter so the rate is higher.

For an example lvl 1 venom, 100 pdamage per 6 secs small charm, no other equipment.

w/o small charm damage is 1-2
w/ small charm damage is 101-102
w/ venom and small charm 67-**
w/ venom w/o small charm 61-82

Lets talk about damage per second same example

w/o small charm 6 frame strikes w/ blade fury 4-8 per second
w/ small charm 6 frame strikes w/ blade fury 70.64-74.64 per second as long as you hit more than one enemy
w/ venom and small charm w/ blade fury 167.5-221.5 per second as long as you let the .4 duration take place.
w/ venom w/o small charm w/ blade fury 152.5-205 per second as long as you let the .4 duration take place.

Just some food for thought

Hmmm.... Okay. Seems that I was under the impression that every poison source did the same damage but the duration was cut. Not the poison per sec totaled and then change to .4. Hmmm... Are the numbers there listed from the character screen? Or mathematics?

I had to set up an excel spreadsheet for calculating them since it was a specific case and I don't have my D2 on the computer I am on. I have seen very similar numbers ran in the assassin forum so my numbers might be a bit off the actual screen image but they are about right for what they would appear as. I may have missed rounded that seems to be the general mistake when using excel to create an example.

The basic idea is that the rate is not changed but the total damage is due to the shortened length of the skill. Your best bet is to look for charms or other sources with high rates of Poison damage. Ie take damage/time and find the largest number, this will give you an estimate on damage rate although the true formula is a bit more complex.
