    100 P8 Pit vs. 100 P1 Baal Runs

Ok, so here goes what I have been working on over the last few weeks. Not having as much time to play as I used to, this has indeed taking around 2 weeks to complete and thus I have felt the pressure to get it done as I have seen tons of threads such as this one pop up recently.

So the MF... 443% regular, 570% on weapon switch and you can add 210% MF to either one if my merc got the kill (he got the kill on 98 of 100 Baal runs).

Here are the 100 P8 Pit runs findings... all the "nothing's" will be omitted.

Elite Items found in WSK en route to Baal:
Feral Claws, Corona, Vampirebone Gloves, Ogre Axe, Lacquered Plate, Caduceus, Lum Rune, Amn Rune X2

    STATS:

    THE PIT
    Uniques: 36
    Sets: 50
    Elite Items: 9
    TC 87's: 2

    BAAL
    Uniques: 70
    Sets: 51
    Elite Items: 25
    TC 87's: 1

    WSK
    Elite Items: 6
    TC 87's: 2

Pretty interesting indeed. As you can see, Baal dropped a whole heck of a lot more uniques than sets. Also, even though I found more TC87's from the Pit than from Baal, if you count what was found in the WSK, Baal runs were more profitable for TC 87's. The coolest thing for me was that all 5 of the TC 87's were needed for my grail :D Also make a note that the difference in time to do a Baal run and to do a P8 Pit run was pretty neglegable.

I have been running pit recently, I have got 2 tc87 item...
Windy, Caddy in below 100 run.
    I had 500% MF total...

Anyway, it is nice to have a comparation together. :)

Oh yes, There only different between me and this result is I had more unique than set while running pit.
    Around 20% more.

    Three things:

    1) Great comparison, that must've taken a lot of time, but time well spent it was. Now you have all of those sweet items and our undying respect :D

    2) Perhaps someone should collect all this type of stuff, I see a "750 Pindle runs" thread on the 1st page aswell. (looks toward AE)

    3) Nope, I got nothing.....

Thanks Sam (winking smilie... oh wait I don't think we have one of those). Anyway, I recall Takis saying something about gathering up a slew of posts/results such as this so that we can put together some more concrete data. That would be the ultimate as the reason I got into looking at and particpating in these types of finding's is to possilbly find out the best place to help get me to my grail.

edit: Takis if you read this... I do have all my results saved in word if that would help you out at all.

Send them on and I'll put them together with mine. We'll see what we get when we have 500 runs to compare.

    By the way, great job!

Sorry for the double post, but after studying Sincere's Stats closer I noticed that we both came to the same conclusion.

Baal is a better dropper. About 2/1 ratio on Unique/set items combined.

As for strickly TC87 items I think so far it's too close to call. The edge goes to the pits percentage wise do far.

As for time it takes to make both runs. Both of us are in agreement that it's almost the same. I ran Baal on mine on Players 3 but still it wasn't that much longer than the pits.

    My personal conclusion:
Pits are great, but they don't have Baal on the end and he does make a difference. Especiall on players 3 when he's guaranteed a no drop. That means 1-3 unique's per run that you don't get at the pits.
Even at players 1 Baal by himself can double the output of the entire pits run.

SincereX13 can comment a little more on this.

To clear things up, I used my Zealot for runs :)

To comment about who is better to run... I'll agree w/ Takis 100%. This holds true especially for grailers. I'll try to sum up my thoughts in a coherent manner. For those who are grailing but only have a few of those thougher elite items to find I don't think we know the best place to run yet. However, if you are a grailer who still has a good portion of non Meph droppable items to find then I would say your best bet is to run Baal. Shear logic tells you that if you are finding sets and uniques at twice the number then you are going to be finding grail items at a faster pace.

Nice results and analysis! I am not too shocked that Baal drops a bit
better than The Pit. It is just daunting getting to the old boy IMO.
Congrats on the great Grail finds! :)

Takis: If you are interested in a copy of my Pindle run results, I can
send them to you as well.

IMO, the difference between running the pits and running Baal, is difficulty. From these results we can see that running Baal is better, but it is also quite a bit harder to run than the pits.

If you have a character that can do Hell Baal runs well, than that will probably be your best choice to run. However, for people who may not yet have a character capable of running Baal, the pits are easier to run, and come in at a close second, as far as drops are concerned, so they would be a good choice to run.

Of course there is the third option of running them both.

Send them to me if you don't mind. Also it would be helpful if you tell me the average length of your run (time wise) and if you cleared out your way to Pindle or just head straight to him. Also if all the Items were from Pindle and his croonies or did some come from monsters on the way to Pindle.

No need to get real technical, just want to get a sense of the run length so I can compare.

    Thanks
