1.09 Flashback

[Wurmer]

My best and most fun pvp character was in early to mid 1.09. It was a zealot named Wurmer of course. I know that many despise pvp zealot duel but anyways.

Clvl 99

20 Fana.
20 holyshield
20 smite
8 zeal
4 vigor
5 charge
reste prerequistes.

Stats

156 str.
123 dexterity
295 vitality

Gear:

20 ias/ 6 LL blood gloves
Shaft with 15 ias jewel : Also used full plate of the whale with 156 ed + 1-298 lighting damage + 30 to 98 fire damage. Still have that one somewhere
Gaze with 15 ias/ xx ed (not 40 ed )/Guillaum's face.
Stormshield ed jewel
Perfect SoE
Gorerider
Near perfect raven + a rare ring with 7 LL/15 dexterity/115ar
Highlord ammy

Weapons :

256 % ed CMoQ LoLoEth crafted it myself
Fury conquest (later on)
Fury seraph rod
Cruel caddy of transcendance damage 160-167
Ethereal Bstar sometimes.

Charms :

A mix bag of grand/large/small charms with life/ar/+ to max damage and life/resistance as well.

This character was most fun, I told it many times, because it was before the first mass duping exploit. No one was carrying 40 x 3/20/20 in there inventory and no one was loaded with 15/40 jewel and the like. Most of what you used was self found and could realisticly be found or traded in the game.

I had much success with this character winning most of my duels and loosing constantly to very few. Me and HandofElysium had some epic duels back than. We basically had the same strategies.

Also I can say without bragging that I was one of the very few first to introduce a combination of Zeal/smite/Zeal. That got me some very unpolite comments from various players, many did not like it.

I got into mage type duel after that but my heart was never really into it and never did much duel with my V/T.

yea, at the beginning of 1.10 i did assume pal vs pal was going to be broken, i guess i assumed wrong i and i forgot to say hi to blade. elly, how is temple without me around? oh and remember when i beat you in .09 without a scratch

Ok let me take my memory back and post my zealot from .09... I tryed out for many clans and was in AoD in uswest for a little bit then started my own clan, and started to get some recognition as one of the better zealots [dont want to brag here]... before 1.10 hit.

Here was my last zealot from what i remember [i made like 10 in 1.09 ]

Clvl: 95

20 fanat
20 zeal [...yes i maxed zeal... this was when i heard about the ar bonuses from the testing 1.10 people]
20 HS
20 charge
rest smite

Dont remember stats but i had just enough for my equip, max block and all vit

Gear:

-.08 shako with a legit white 40/15 max in it
-160/30/30/24 armour with duped jewels [not that expensive... do you remember the price of a 40/15, 40/14, 39/15 that was legit? 40 RUNES! lol]and i forgot the defense
-lo lo eth cmsl 293 ed 6 ll / etheral 'eth' bstar for the fun of it sometimes
-two 9/10 ll rings with hella resists, str, dex, life etc
-wraith brand boots [popular 18 rune ish cost classic dupes with 49/48/49 resist, 19 str, fhr, frw etc]
-Cham .09 ss
-15/8 soe
-cubed gloves with 29 fr, str, dex, 20 ias, etc
-highlords
Switch: HoZ, magic scepter with +3 holy shield

Charms:

Fire/life, Fire/fhr, Cold/life, Lightning/life, Fire resist/life, All resist/life - mostly scs and a few fire damage charms were lcs [25-50 fd, 30 life ish on the lcs]

I dueled in paladin pk games like palapk [thanks to the paladin chat ], but I usually made my own game: palapkk//legit... or something like that name. I remember dueling people from clans like AoD, DBD, hmm... Those are the only two I could remember, and it was DBD that 9/10 of the times they would kick my *** if I could remember. I would win nearly all of my duels and came close to beating some of the hardest zealots out there, and would always be complimented on my 'hella life leach' that i had.

I remember watching a few zealot duels in early/mid .09 and just wishing I had that character. At the time I had made different kinds of paladins, barbarians, and sorcs - but mostly paladins. My first zealot was really lame... but trade after trade after trade after friend retiring etc got me very rich [i did buy low sell high for ever] - and i got the items i wanted. I ended up making like 10 zealots by the end of .09... usually because of slight stat problems or something - or even because i joined a clan... mine had to be perfect.

Discrimation? The whole build was based on a pathetic programming error from blizzard basically. Now since it has been fixed the CTR is now CYA

all my names had something to do with hust or streetdreamz... if you are on east u should remember me i only lost to 1 dudes ctr been a long time... i didnt wana make a ctr and join the band wag.. so i beat him once out of every 15 duels. But he is the only person i lost to

God i miss those zealot duels. some lasted like 5 minutes. Those were awsome zeal duels..Blizzard should have never changed life leetch like that, now u can't use it at all in pvp.

and thx to blizzard genious people, now that the ladder was merged into non ladder, the prices are all messed up again... blah, people on ladder had SOJS as currency, people non ladder had Runes Ber Jah Ohm as curency. Now its insane..

1 x 3.20.20 used tobe = 1 x 290 or 1 x rune..

now (after ladder merged)

1x 3.20.20= 2 Runes.

and not tomention a 40/15ias used to be One rune now its like 3-4....

again Thx blizzard for ladder.. considering nobody plays ladder and its kinda pointless.
