I started this character with a question I asked myself “How far could I take a character using the minimum attack skills and a metric ship-tonne of elemental damage charms, gems and damage pluses?” I put a single point into Magic Arrow, a bugged MPK ring and every charm that I had and I started. And the answer to the question? Nightmare Mephisto. True, I put points into the Passive & Magic tab and use Decoy and Valk – but nothing else into the other tabs. After I came to my senses, I maxed LF and I started rollicking ahead. If the truth be told I couldn’t go any slower. Then came the decision on the back-up skill. I’d read that Ice Arrow had a decent buff from 1.07, so I went with it. The combination of Demon Machine and Ice Arrow was a killer (shatterer?), just a pity that you don’t do the explosive damage is conjunction with IA. In fact, it became my main attack and LF because the back-up. The final 10 or so skill points I debated whether to go for Immolation Arrow or Guided Arrow. In the end, cool-downs are something I usually try to avoid, so by default Guided Arrow became the go to back-up back-up. This combination of skills with the ultra-emergency back-up of Magic Arrow (I was pushed to using that by the Nightmare Ancients) meant that the build more or less cruised once I started using my skill points. As usual, the less said about the mercs the better but a level 79 Barb once I hit Hell Act 5 was good. I kept a few stat points under my belt just in case I found a Burra, but in vain. All in all I had an unexpectedly good time with this build, firstly with my little experiment and then with the power of the combo.
