1.07 Question

I see most (or some?) people here play in 1.07 version of D2. May I ask why?

Most people play the lastest version. There are people that besides playing the latest version, also play one or more earlier versions. In most cases the reason is that in certain patches there are very powerful items to be found that are not available any more in the latest patch. In other cases it's because the gameplay was significantly different from now (pre 1.10 no synergies for example).

Ooooh. Thank you Cyrax. And how do you change versions? Just replace the mpq file in the D2 folder?

I play 1.07 because it is one of the two LoD patches that I haven't completed all seven characters in, with 1.08 being the other. If not for that I wouldn't touch it will a barge pole otherwise.

There are two programs we use here to change D2 versions; Trenshadow's and Fearedbliss's version changers. They are link to in the stickies. They are found here.

I sadly cannot find any downloads for the patch 1.07 as the link in the thread was broken and I have no luck searching for it in Google. Do you guys by chance know a site? Thanks

I'm pretty sure someone posted new links in the 1.07 thread recently. If i were you i'd check that out. Can't be more then a few pages back.
