mdr is VERY effective in this version since it comes after res (assuming your res is positive, ofc ;) )... I'm hoping to find a SoE to provide some mdr once I replace skullder's with arkaine's

I died many times with my Barbarian in Hell Travincal. Since it was my SC playing I wasn't very careful and sometimes cheap with the Purples (bad habits) but it still shows that they are dangerous since it's p1 we are talking and that he used Arkaine's as soon as he could. I can't remember exactly what killed him more often, but I remember some NDE when killing some of them.

HC (careful) playing should avoid most of those situations. LoH with the great demon damage bonus and the fire absorb helps but you should also have fire res in the free sockets and stacked res on inventory. Balance life and frw/dmg as you go.

First I want to assure you, the Lam Essen Tome in 1.07 is at random temple. I hoped to make the screenshot again, but this time it was in the Ruined Temple, but that doesn't mean anything. Common misconception is that even in 1.07 the tome was at fixed location. But whatever. When i'll have screeney, i'll show. Until then:

clvl 28 and Mephisto is dead.

Near deathes:
at Mephisto I dunno what crit the demon made, but 2/3rd my full HP just disappeared (have ca. 50% in all resistances). Drank a full rejuv. And the bugger dropped only useless blues.

BUT the Council dropped a Sigon Shield! And a Sigon Helm at another run! I'll hire an A3 merc right now.

About Council in Kurast: I remember back then I made Council-runs for yellow stuff. I also remember Geleb, the FE-one killed me occasionally.

Oh, if Council-members: and you remember Bartuc (coming in Act 5)? The very same guy who got killed by Horazon, and by The Warrior/The Dark Wanderer. How many lives this bugger have?

Maybe someone would ask how I can have in p1 such high level. Well, I grew up on games where you didn't killed bosses in p8 for fun&profit. Back then you cleared entire areas again and again. That is my secret.

-------------

A background-related topic: did you ever gave a thought why the argue between angels and demons in/on the mortal (human) world is called The Sin War, and not The War AGAINST Sin?
MY answer is, to get aligned EITHER side is only possible by comiting a sin. Yes, I hold that you can side the Heavens by SINNING.

It is so frustrating that I made that screenshot a couple of times for the same reason, but I always loose them thinking the point is made for good. Oh meh.

Further differences:
- you can't buy max-stack keys. Minor nuisance, but a nuisance to buy them in small packages.
- mercs do not scale with clvl. Bugger.

clvl 29 - and Hephasto was vanquished. As suspected, this time it was oh-so-mush easier.

Hellforge drop: El (dammit)

clvl 30 - Diablo down. Gave my first unique: Heavenly Garb.

Back from vacation.

clvl 32

Merc doesn't in the hurry to reach me in lvl... But it is awesome nontheless. Because it kills stuff. Of course it could have more life... And my inventory is very limited, so I'd appreciate if it'd lvl up. (lvl 20 now it is)

Of course (for why not) I failed the second quest in Act 5 for first go... Whatever.

Found a pala shield with 29 allres. Ok, it is just some white stuff, but 29 allres is 29 allres. Could use a lot of runes too. Found a Sol - with the right base could make a useful weapon. Fat chance for a 3sox morningstar though.

Pumped Vengance to 9 for AR-bonus, otherwise nothing to mention here.

Difference from 1.13: evil huts create baal-minions instead of imps.

EDIT: sry for doublepost. Got confused.

Blessed Aim, is the one for the AR bonus isnt it? Or is this yet another one of those 1.07 things?

@Rawness
If you check the bonuses on Vengeance, it gives a slight (10% per slvl) AR-bonus.
Soon the Conviction (-def to enemy amongst others) gave way enough hit-rate, but during the first 30ths clvl it was just uncomfortable to go around with insufficient weapon/AR and basic (20) DEX.
The mana-spending along the HP-need also this way was more efficient.

The merc needs lvl 37 (now we both 36) to equip Sigon Shield - a bit long. A thing though I like in it it freezes stuff efficintly (well, we are on Normal of course).

Difference from 1.13: random friendly barbarians leave no corpses. Simply visual, but here we go.

-----------------

EDIT:

To those thinking about "1.07 auradin":
- auras last after deactivated (switched, or source dies - tested by killing monsters) for 6 seconds
- auras start to effect target after 2 seconds (maybe 3). This seems sometimes immediate, so I suspect the check is cyclic.

Differences from 1.13:
- in act5 the harpies can not curse you if you are under the effect of a shrine.

The succubus type of monsters cannot target you with their curse if you have any shrine or other curse active. They can target your minions, however, and will if you are not the closest target. I do believe this applies to any patch, present one included.

clvl 43: Baal is down (for now)

differences from 1.13:
- imps don't port out of siege towers when they are destroyed
- the chance to find circlets are way higher. I currently walk around a 15 allres, 3 mdr one.

Otherwise nothing much to mention. All blue stuff even from Baal, who was actually so easy I thought I just kill a clone.

I think I'll make a druid to have a real red-coloured character for the bragging-rights. No idea though how to suffer it reach lvl 30 w/o respec.

Also got to my mind a challenge: beat the game with stuff only bought in shop! No gambling, no crafting, no drops from any monster. Reward-items are allowed (including quest-drops from Countess!).

-------------

Went out on Nightmare to The Den, and was surprisingly easier than I remembered/expected. Well, good for me.

Also started a druid. I THINK it'll develop like this:
- meleeing through Act 1 (lvl 1-12/15)
- summoning Dire Wolves through Act 2-5 (- lvl 30)
- kill by Hurricane through Nightmare (lvl 30-72/75)
- get Armageddon along Hurricane after that
This is just a sketch of course, but will try it. It just feel stupid that the only viable 1.07 druid would be shapeshifters (and by that I mean fury werewolves). I really think hard what they thought when they designed the summons so dependent on each other, the elemental skills so weak and random, and mostly all the class' damage being pure physical. Oh, and they totally forgot the need of resistance for the summons.
I'd really like to know what they had in mind when they came up with the druid, and wether someone at all tested it before release.
