Interesting fact about skullders: it DOES have MF based on level in 1.07/1.08. but stupid Blizzard didn't spell the description right so it reads as gold find per level. It reads correct when brought forward

08 skullders does have MF! Rack one. I was lucky and got an Eth one while rolling racks for a shako!

I played 1.09 a lot on the realms and never found a TR Armor. Only found a few later, when it became much easier to find.

Racked 3 in 1.07 as well I think.
Racked 2 Skullder's as well, one of them etheral, that one will eventually be forwarded to 1.09 for a mf barb!

On a side note, you may wonder, 'So what happens when a monster which should be able to drop above TC66 tries to?'...Its my hypothesis that in this case, the game will drop from TC33...this is NOT based on delving into the code or .mpq files, but rather on extensive observation on what drops the most in Hell: if you've spent much time in Hell, you HAVE to have noticed how often THESE item bases drop:

What does MF item progression in 1.07 look like? Should I be going with as much MF as I can find on gear (prob 7x Perfect Topaz outfit) and trying to upgrade incrementally, or racking for specific MF equipment like Shako or Tal Rasha's armor?
MF is weird in 1.07... it doesn't help much, until you hit certain breakpoints, at which point it forces drops of a given quality (unique/rare/set/magic). Class Specific items (Pally Shields, Necro Heads, Sorc Orbs, etc.) get a divisor that makes it easier to hit the breakpoints. Notice, however, that if you have enough MF to force sets, then you are wearing too much to get Class Specific Set itamz...they will drop rare instead. This matters if you want to find IK/Aldur's hat, Tal's Orb, or Trang's Shield...unfortunately Gris' Shield and Nat's Claw are both TC69, so neither can drop from mobs...

Note: I'm NOT suggesting that its possible to get 3097MF...thats just how much it would take, according to the calcs :rolleyes:

I will say that while racking is supposed to be completely independent of MF, I seem to get slightly more bluez from racks if I'm wearing my big MF gear (about 1 every 20-25 runs, rather than the expected 1 in 30 without... anybody else notice this, or is it just my imagination?)

80 life, though once I reach 85 I don't have to really worry about that so much. More mana is VERY welcome, though, as well as the tiny chance of good automod skills...

I think I'll give it a try. NM or hell LK? Should only be 1/500 chance because class-specific, right? Maybe I can go crazy and get a rack with that and ceremonial javs...?

Frenzy is bugged to continue working with 0 durability weapons (which don't break) as long as no other attack skill (including normal attack) is ever used to land a hit. Warcries are fine, switching weapons is fine, getting mana burned and having frenzy default to a normal attack is NOT fine, and will break both weapons from landing a single hit if both are at 0 durability.

This has saved me quite some gold and town trips while slowly leveling my 1.07 barb.

What's best skill for endgame travibarb? WW as always?

Anyone still interested in playing the 1.07 beta? Obviously you wouldn't cross the character with legit ones, but I think it would be fun to give it a go. The patch I made combines some code from 1.07 to get it up and running, so it's basically the same. The charge bug doesn't work though :mad:

I really need to read up on crafting again, sitting on some 350 jewels and tons of runes by now. Only crafting I have done so far was ~25 blood rings a couple of weeks ago and maybe the same amount (or more, don't remember) of blood giant threshers long ago.

What's everyone's take on mule organization? I come from a Bnet background and having tons of toons with items is natural to me. I've heard good things about GoMule for later patches, but I've never played a patch compatible with GoMule in SP. So like everyone else in 1.07 I use Atma, though I keep most of my stuff on characters.

I basically have 1 Atma stash for all my crafting jewels, 1 stash for all my crafting runes (or rather all runes below Pul, I picked up way to many...), 1 stash for crafting bases and 1 stash for all flawed gems (mostly sapphires), normal gems (mostsly sapphires) and chipped sapphires.

All the rest is on characters, so right now I have 2 full characters each of Pskulls and Pammies, 1,5 of Prubies, 7,5 of other Pgems, 3 of chipped and then like 30-40 more for charms & items, all very organized.

Probably not the most efficient way to do things...

Keep a stash to throw in your crafting results as well. Certainly helps me when i'm looking for prismatic ammies or res rings

I wouldn't want my PGems/PSkulls in Stashes, since I'll need to have them on characters anyway to roll rare jewels in 1.08 and charms in 1.09.

I'm pretty paranoid about stashes corrupting somehow

I've never had a problem even without backups except when my windows setting were changed and that set back all of my files a week, somehow

Playing 1.00 got me also to launch 1.07 since a long time. Javazon appears to be a decent Travi runner also:
I need to roll a better map and it could be even faster. Also work my memory at what to pick. Trick agains PI/LI is some crushing blow (Guillaume's) and for even more impact I use my crafted Ctc Amp Matris.

Only problem (surprisingly..) I have is MSLE. I show my equipment at the end, is there anything I could do to improve my survivability? Pdiamond in shield and Um in Arkaine's? Would it help at all to max my LR?

Added pdiamond and it already helps, I think.

I forgot that Um has only 10 res when in helm/armor, I think I won't put that to my Arkaine's just now. What's the max for a single res with jools in 1.07? Easiest way to get maxed LR would be to switch some charms, and boots.

I found an IAS/29% Cold Res Jewel the other day, so I would assume max single res is 30% like in later patches
