Travis Day: What to do with excess gems?

Anyone with much experience playing a level 70 character soon learns that Marquise gems build up into huge stacks. Players who play multiple classes have more use for the different flavors of gem, but eventually almost everyone (especially in Softcore, where you never lose gems and hardly anyone bothers with Amethysts or Diamonds in armor) winds up with hundreds of gems and no purpose for them.

Vote: Diablo 3’s Enchanting Nightmare

Diablo 3’s Enchanting Nightmare comes and goes. Enchanting is usually awesome, and I’m very happy when I see a socket appear on a weapon, or nail a big Critical hit Damage roll on a ring, etc. That said, there are wild disparities between different item slots, and those drive some players crazy. Enchanting Bug with the Obsidian Ring of the Zodiac

Several players have discovered an unpleasant enchanting bug with the Obsidian Ring of the Zodiac. This legendary ring rolls with bonuses to all attributes plus All Resistance, and can turn out spectacularly well with good luck on the random affix rolls that add onto the others. Crafting and Economy Price Changes in Reaper of Souls

Some of the less-documented changes in the recent patches have been crafting and economy price changes in Reaper of Souls. (These apply to Diablo 3 on the PTR also.) Earlier in the Reaper of Souls beta crafting was mostly a gold expense, and it was much more expensive than now. Rares and Legendaries cost exponentially more to enchant than they do now, and since legs also require a Forgotten Soul material, they were very hard to upgrade for a month plus during the “no legs for you” patch.
