Mike Morhaime Addresses Diablo players
Early this morning Mike Morhaime wrote up a lengthy reply to all Diablo players. In it he covers the success of the game and mistakes in the first few weeks. He also recognizes mistakes made since launch, and outlines intentions for the game moving forward.

Heroes Rise: 40% Unlocked
Moments ago the Heroes Rise promotional page passed the 40% completion mark and with it we get another Dev Diary, the third in the series. This short clip covers “the biggest challenges going into the Diablo III testing and localization phases.” The video again features Jay Wilson, Christian Lichtner, and Jason Regier. As a recap, the first installment covered a brief status of development early in 2011, while the second covers polishing phases of the game and the internal alpha. This third installment covers similar grounds, delving more into the development process beyond the internal alpha.

Diablo 3 Now “Active” for WoW Annual Pass Accounts
A couple of readers mailed in this evening to let us know that Diablo III is now showing as “Active” on Battle.net accounts that purchased the World of Warcraft Annual Pass. You can’t download it or anything, but it’s hard not to take this as a SIGN OF RELEASE!!1! If you’re into that sort of thing.

Diablo 3 Release Date Announcement Coming Next Week…?
Diablo.IncGamers.com was the first place on and offline to announce Diablo III (Rush boldly did it the night before the official reveal once snippets of info started leaking on to the Net), back in June 2008. At that time we *knew* it was coming; it was not a guess. We’re not as certain about this prediction, which is why it’s classed as a RUMOUR, but various inside sources have given us strong hints that next Monday, March 5th, should be a very interesting day for Diablo III news.

No Diablo 3 Beta Patch Before the Weekend
Update: It has been confirmed that they will be delaying the patch to either Saturday or Sunday.
To ensure that all systems and changes included in Beta Patch 13 are working properly, we’ve decided to take some extra time to continue internal testing. As a result, we will not be releasing Beta Patch 13 today. We will, however, be working through the weekend and look forward to delivering the patch on either Saturday or Sunday.

Bashiok: Update on Runestones/Patch Coming “Soon”
The progress report on runestones has yet to be released to the public. In the latest tweets and blue responses over the past weeks, we have seen a wide swath of verbiage taken from the Blizzard’s Lexicon of Patience to waylay our requests for this update. Many see this patch as the final hurdle for solidifying the release date, and it contains the last major iterations that have been stated to the community.
