Bashiok Behind the Scenes of the WWI Demo

Bashiok made an interesting post today in which he related some behind the scenes info about how the Diablo III team creates and records those cool gameplay demos.  A fan commented on the first Diablo III gameplay movie, the one released last June at the Paris WWI event. That video ends with that epic battle between the four heroes and the gigantic Siegebreaker Assault Beast in the graveyard. That’s not the first time Siegebreaker is seen in the movie, though.

Blizzard Does Not Have all Classes and Act 1 Done

There has apparently been a misunderstanding growing from one of the interviews Rob Pardo did at WWI 2008, which would imply that Blizzard have all the classes and most of the game ready to play in their office. Besides the fact that they mentioned the BlizzCon 2008 build as being about a month behind their actual work, some people still think a lot more work is done, and Blizzard is just keeping their great game back to spite the fans. Bashiok tries to clarify by basically saying that “playable” does not really mean it’s good enough to show. In layman terms: they might have non-animated figures without textures and gameplay spells without graphics on an huge Act 1 without terrain or textures for most of it.

WWI D3 Panel Transcripts

As promised, we’ve added full transcripts for all four hour-long Diablo III panels from last weekend’s WWI event.  The transcripts are edited to clean up the language and focus the answers, and we’ve even sorted the questions from the first mega, 70-question Q&A by category, for easier reading. They can all be found in our growing Diablo III wiki.

We’ve seen the mini Diablos in World of Warcraft and now Blizzard’s latest special pet will be the Archangel Tyrael. This is the pet code as found on the WWI cards which were handed out to everyone with their goodie bags. Unfortunately the pet is not available until the next patch but it will be worth the wait if you’re playing WoW. Blizzard added:
