Later than I wanted it to be, but quite long and details, here’s my Wizard gameplay report, based on my Wizard playtime at Blizzcon. This report covers the basic gameplay style (kinda Sorceress-y), has a bit of discussion of items, and goes into great detail on the lower level active spells, most of which I was able to test out. There are links aplenty in this piece, pointing to the various Wizard skill tree pages in Diablo Wiki, all of which add many more details, stats, descriptions, and screenshots of the Wizard’s leet skillz. Refer to them as you read, and you’ll gain considerable knowledge of the character you know you are simply itching to get your hands on.

Our week of Blizzcon demo articles continues, today with coverage of that Necromancer usurper, the Witch Doctor. I had a chance to play through the entire Blizzcon demo with this character, and have written up the general play style, the strengths and weaknesses, and included some coverage of the skills, the overall character design, the structure of the skill trees, the WD-themed items I saw, and more.

Thanks to day to day work and some real life complications, I’ve not had time to properly write up much of the D3 information I gathered at Blizzcon. As a result, aside from my Barbarian gameplay report, MedievalDragon’s Gameplay Impressions, and our coverage of the Barbarian and Wizard skills, we’ve not posted the this site has long been known for. That’s about to change.

Last weekend I had a chance to play through the entire BlizzCon demo with a Barbarian, and you can read my report on that experience below the fold. Also in this post is a discussion of the Barbarian’s overall balance and design, and a profile of some of his more interesting, creative, and controversial skills. Self-resurrection, anyone? The skills are linked to the appropriate pages in the DiabloWiki, since we’ve compiled our notes and massively updated the Barbarian Skills. Every single skill in all three trees (as seen at BlizzCon) is now listed; and since there are about 18 per tree, there are now more than 50 skills named, described, and discussed.

I am fortunate to be one of the lucky people who played the Diablo III demo showcased at Blizzcon 2008 in Anaheim. Not only was it a pleasure to play it, but it left me craving for more. I decided to create a female Wizard. She spawns in the outskirts of the Tristram Woods where Captain Rumford and an armored warrior are piling up a bonfire of corpses. The warrior can be seen transporting the corpses off a wagon and into the bonfire.

Flux here: I got about 15 minutes play time on the wizard, and then spent 15 minutes looking over all of her skills and dictating their descriptions. We’re doing some live reports in the chat channel, and here are some quick facts, with more to come later.
