Rumors have been flying about an alleged Jay Wilson interview from a Chinese site that confirmed the Arena would be paid DLC, rather than free content in a patch. A fan quoted the whole supposed interview on the B.net forums, and got a reply from a Blue.

In another Aussie-based interview, this time with Gameon.Net, Jay discusses the RMAH and reiterates that it’s up to the players to play by the rules when it comes to currency and declaring taxes. He also touches on the latency issue Aussie gamers are usually concerned with when having to connect to US servers.

Bashiok interrupted his usual Saturday routine of extreme ironing to drop a few forum replies about the future of PvP in Diablo III. In them he restates the fact that D3 will not have any form of PvP when it launches, and nothing will be enabled for PvP until they can patch in the full Arena system at some point in the future.

The long-standing rule of thumb estimate of character level progression by difficulty level has been 30/50/60. With the recent announcement that Blizzard would be removing PvP from the game’s launch, many people’s heads turned and caused controversy – thought it seemed that most are okay with it getting the initial axe before release. Amongst the controversy, theories had been thrown about as to why they would cut a dominant feature from the game – one of which pointed to making the Arena system much more robust and possibly to make it e-sport bound.
