How to not get pk’d in Diablo 3 Hardcore: Volume 3

Where there is a will, there is a PK. Hardcore is filled with challenges and the main objective is to avoid death. Normally that just means monsters, but unfortunately it also means your fellow players. As I’ve covered before , and before that, Players can exploit monsters to lead to your demise. The newest versions preys off players looking to be power leveled in Hardcore. As Flux covered recently, and I did previously there are communities devoted to helping people level through utilizing T6 bounties.

Diablo 3 Town PK Danger from Firewalkers Boots

A new in-town PK bug has been found, so here’s your warning about Diablo 3 Town PK danger from Firewalkers boots. The bug is that players can take damage from the Firewalkers’ ground flames, even while in town, if they are standing right beside the Brawling NPC. Apparently this is only an issue with Firewalkers, skills and other items that deal elemental damage will not cause the problem.

Reaper of Souls End Game is Missing?

Datamining Shows PvP Coming in Reaper of Souls?

We’ve been doing out own datamining on that leaked pre-alpha version of Reaper of Souls and posting some of the most interesting images in our datamining gallery. There are some very interesting things to be seen, and while all the usual “might not make it into the final game” caveats apply, there’s some intriguing stuff related to a PvP or dueling system.

One life to live:How not to get pk’ed

After posting several columns about this topic I’ve decided to just go ahead and make a guide about what you need to avoid.The past few days has lead to a proliferation of player killing in hardcore with some of the more dastardly streaming their efforts. Diablo 3 Developers Video Interview

Four of the Diablo 3 devs took part in an hour-long Diablo 3 Developers Video Interview yesterday on a podcast called Twizzcast (part one and part two). They answered (and occasionally avoided) questions about coming D3 skill changes, the Diablo console, Diablo 3 ladders, Demon Hunter issues, Legendary improvements, and more. Diablo Brawling: Hardcore dueling possibly Fatal?

A few posts are coming up on the forums showing that it may be possible to die while Duelingbrawling. Apparently if you have any bleed effects or dots on you as you leave the chapel they can carry over to the real world, where death is permanent. Also if you take fatal damage right as you are hitting the portal to town you aslo may find yourself dead. Check the thread here.

Hardcore dueling: Life or death?

With patch 1.07 on the horizon and dueling on it’s way, I’ve been considering what I once was adamant against: dying in pvp. In the original iteration of PVP you were tossed into an arena with a partner fighting another group for your life. You didn’t know what was on the other side, and you didn’t know how much your partner could help. However dueling changes that and my opinion as well.

Diablo 3 PvP: Dueling Day One

Diablo 3 PvP was available on the PTR as soon as the v1.07 patch went live for testing, and plenty of fans leapt in and had a shot. Just one shot, quite often, since the system seems to be functionally-identical to PvM, but pointed at each other. There are no allowances made or balances included, and battles are fast and lethal, with the irresistible force of 500,000 DPS attacks meeting the very moveable object of 50,000 hps characters, fast-hitting stun lock skills that can’t be escaped, game-breaking insta-kill builds, and more.
