Changes to Loot from Bounties and Rifts Incoming

At present the content of a Horadric Cache is not affected by the difficulty level you were awarded it on. Complete the Bounty on Normal or Torment 6, it matters not a jot. This encourages split farming on normal difficulty for groups to speedily collect caches and hopefully desirable loot.  Blizzard has recently said that is definitely not the style of play they wanted.

Opening 102 Horadric Cache Bounty Bags

Recently I partook in some split bounty farming. Ordinarily I hate that approach, each person completing an act’s Bounties and everyone in game getting a cache even though they didn’t even set foot in the act. Cheeky Merlot with your cheese madam? But this was for research purposes.

25% Bonus Drop Rate for Legendaries in Rifts: Now Live

Good news for players who felt Nephalem Rifts needed to be more rewarding; Blizzard has buffed the drop rates of Legendaries in Rifts by 25%. (Update: This is now live on the realms.) Also note that Horadric Caches (obtained for completing all Bounties in an act) can *not* drop Torment-only gear, no matter what difficulty you obtain them on, which indirectly makes drops from Rifts even more valuable.

Reaper of Souls Bounty Split-Farming Remains

We saw last week that Reaper of Souls bounty split-farming had been hotfixed out of the beta. While the really exploitative method was patched, Blizzard didn’t entirely remove the benefits of everyone going their own way in a multiplayer game. Characters now have to be on the same level to score the exp/gold/Blood Shards reward for each individual bounty, but everyone in the game, no matter where they are, still gets credit for the bounty completion, which counts towards the bonus goodie bag earned for completing all bounties in each act.
