    1. Thanks for the podcast boys. Happy new year!

    2. I wish items would have +To All Skills, or +To Specific skill just like D2 had. Then of course Skill Trees or whatever they want to call it. Afterall Uniques are now called Legendaries lol 🙂 – Anyways… Long story short.. D3 should have more core-gameplay from D2 and D1 combined and then add on top of that. Instead we have incredibly poor core-gameplay with fancy stuff around it.

That’s why D3 gets boring after a while. “Rerolling isn’t fun”, “StatPoints are an illusion”, well we know better now that they were an important part of the core-gameplay (including Player-to-Player trading and open-world PVP).

There is hope that they get the core-gameplay of Diablo 4 right, and then all the other fluff doesnt really matter… but is of course icing on the cake 🙂

      • I fully disagree with your points about what made D1 or D2 fun … it was definitely not the skill trees. ^^

+Skill on Items was the most terrible thing ever happening to Diablo 2 (I include Runewords here that gave the same bonus), completely destroying any class balance (teleport for everyone, wee). The above comments are all under the premise of a player who spent hundreds/thousands of hours in both games. On a casual note, neither of these things were bad and I would even agree that they were great for the casual player.

But as you talk about replayability here, I’ll go out on a limb and say you’re not talking about the casual player (or whatever we want to call someone who plays the game once or maybe twice and then is happy and moves on).

        • I didn’t say those things made D1 and D2 fun (although for me they sure added to the fun). I just said they were part of character development based on skill choices and sacrifices. Something that D3 does not have.

I personally thing the +Skill was awesome compared to the damage in D3 that scales off of weapon damage. In D1 and D2 you could deal damage while being entirely naked because more than half the damage and defense came from your character development choices, the rest came from gear.

I did not play much D1 past finishing it a few times, but in D2 LOD i leveled 6 or 7 chars to 99 throughout the years and i loved every minute of every season from start to finish.

    3. Hey guys. I just wanted to check in and say I enjoyed the podcast. Flux – hoping your feeling better soon.
Empty1 – don’t feel bad about the last portrait. The artwork on the portraits were just terrible this season. It was kind of a disappointing reward anyway and no one that’s achieved it will ever display it for long.

I dove deep into season 4 and didn’t really come up for air, unless I had to work. I thought I was going to be a top player and kept grinding without botting until paragon 1100 when my carpal tunnel got so bad … i just had to quit playing for a couple of weeks. I had no idea botting was so rampant because none of my friends (that I knew of were doing that) when i came back to finish off the season, it was apparent that I’d missed out on something because it seemed as if, over night, everyone on the Leader-Boards were paragon 2000. Suddenly, I feel kind of stupid for NOT botting; As my measly 1200 paragon for the season is trumped by the the hoards of players with paragon 2000 to 3000 and, not to mention the shooting pains in my hands from playing all the time. The break between seasons is good fr me, for that reason alone.

I was hoping to not play next season, give my hands a break and be super casual non seasonal player but, they put the extra stash space as a seasonal reward … so, if i want it … no choice but to go seasons.
