Welcome Diablo fans to the latest installment of The Dark Library. This week as Diablo’s Facebook page hits the 1 million mark we have a few more pieces of fiction from the halls of this great library. Without further interruption let?s begin.
The peaceful tuneful song of the birds could be heard quietly in the background of Bane?s mind as he slept. His dreams had been pleasant enough, with no thoughts dwelling on the previous night, or if they had he had no recollection of those faded dreams. Sleep was a luxury thought the not asleep yet not awake barbarian as he turned over onto his back.
The spongy ground was not conducive to stomping. Rather than a satisfying clop, Shael’s boots were just as likely to slosh up to their ankles. She quickly moderated her footfalls, but the stubborn set of her jaw and the bristle that had crept into her back at hearing lieutenant Astin’s pronouncement to her remained. No doubt Alain thought he was doing the noble thing. Arrogant prig.
They had set out from their camps in groups of four to find the four missing members of their party. Each was given a rune which Ume had enchanted. The winds were still furiously stamping out any trace of their passing, and the spirits Ume communed with would lead them back to the camp, which Oslaf and Hoku had remained behind to guard. They were in too much of a hurry to be uneasy with the fact that the spirits of Rathma probably meant ghosts of some sort. At least, that’s how Bohdan figured.
Next week we will bring you more from the fan fiction community in the same conveniently posted bite-size format as well as some works from fan monster and fan class creators. If you have made fan fiction that has not yet been posted in the Diablo fan fiction forum, or just got inspired to do so, head over there and post your material, or ask questions to other fan writers regarding lore, writing style or other input. See you next week!
