Welcome Diablo fans to the latest installment of The Dark Library. This week we have a few more pieces of fiction from the halls of this great library. Without further interruption let?s begin.
We start off this morning with a piece based in Diablo I by David L. Craddock. This story is called Last of His Kind.
Blood mixed with the red light spilling from the monastery’s antechamber across the narrow dirt path that led to the church. The Fallen lay splayed across the light, its spear and wooden shield slipping from emaciated brown hands to the dirt beside it.
Next up this morning we have two chapters from Bane; Hero of the North by Bane. First up is Chapter 12: The Gate(Part III), and here is the first bit from this chapter.
?Are you sure of this?? snapped Balkin as he leant away from Bane. The barbarian was obviously drunk, and seeing things too if he believed his brother had changed in such a way. True, Bailey was not behaving like himself but the man had looked a little ill, all men acted a little odd when under stress and illness. His face reddened as he tried to ignore the rage building inside.
We finish up then with the second chapter from Bane’s story with Chapter 13: The Gate(Part IV) and here is a little bit from this piece as we slowly near the end of this book.
Bane looked out the window of the small room, he watched as men rushed about in the courtyard below, carrying equipment and readying the carriage. The preparations to the night?s operation were in full swing, and he had returned to his room to relax himself, to prepare his spirit for the challenges to come.
Next week we will bring you more from the fan fiction community in the same conveniently posted bite-size format as well as some works from fan monster and fan class creators. If you have made fan fiction that has not yet been posted in the Diablo fan fiction forum, or just got inspired to do so, head over there and post your material, or ask questions to other fan writers regarding lore, writing style or other input. See you next week!
