Starcraft/Blizzard Beta Opt-Ins

Want to (possibly) participate in the SC2 beta, and opt into other future Blizzard betas as well?  Blizzard’s inviting you to do just that, through their new and improved Battle.net account manager service.

The StarCraft II beta-test period is coming in the months ahead! If you?d like a chance to participate, now?s the time to let us know. Simply log in to your Battle.net account (https://eu.battle.net/login/login.xml), and click ?Beta Profile Settings? to go through the new beta opt-in process and upload a snapshot of your system specs. During this process, you?ll also have the opportunity to opt in to future betas for other Blizzard Entertainment games. Please note that even if you?ve opted in to our betas previously, you?ll need to complete this new process and upload your current system specs to have a chance to be invited.

There’s a large FAQ included in the same post, so click through for that, and check out more coverage and details about this opportunity on our Starcraft Wire, our sister SC2 site.

Also, in a surprise twist it turns out that any unused WoW Lich King beta keys given out at the WWI event last year in Paris (which also included a code for the Tyrael mini-pet) will get you into the SC2 beta. But (apparently) not into the D3 beta if you’re thinking about saving it for that. More details here. We gave out 20 of these in various contests late last year; so if any of you guys didn’t use the code for the WoW beta, looks like you get a second chance. Hope you didn’t throw away the card

  1. Glad to know respecs are in.
We do not even know yet how fast the characters will level, respecs are a time-saver and I began liking them more and more since playing TQ. GW is all about respecs too, with possibly the best system I’ve ever seen.
Also, even WoW has respecs, and being it canon MMORPG I can see why they’re going to be included, though I kind of agree with 5zigen, Baboon, Grumpy Old Wizard and Tarnished Hope from an exclusively theoretical standpoint. If they tell me you can go 1 -> 90% of max clev in 12 hours then respecs are not needed, until then I guess I’ll be very happy to have them.

No sinergy trees earn my thumbs-up, I always tought that sinergies were a nice try that horribly backfired on D2 as of 1.10.
