Sources say Diablo 3 is coming to Nintendo Switch

Despite Blizzard has not confirmed that Diablo 3 is heading to the Nintendo Switch, “sources” are saying the Switch version is in development.

The chaps at Eurogamer have cited “sources” who have confirmed that development of the Switch version is well underway following the tease from Blizzard a few days ago. The “sources” would not confirm whether a Switch release would include the Reaper of Souls expansion or the Necromancer. The tease this past week has surprised people in the know as the game’s reveal is supposedly several months away.

Good news if you own a Switch and Blizzard does eventually make an official announcement. For now, we’ll keep this filed as a rumour until Blizzard makes an official announcement.

      • I think the ship has sailed on another D3 expansion. The Necro was the closest we were going to get to that, and was probably meant for a larger (since scrapped) DLC.

As for D4, not necessarily. Lots of companies try to time ports of older games with announcements of new installments, as both drum up interest in the other.

    1. The report claims that Diablo 3 is headed to the Switch, though an official announcement is still purportedly months away. Blizzard raised suspicions with a tweet that showed a diablo nightlight being switched on and off, but later claimed this was merely a fun community engagement piece.
