At long last, Salem’s Fire has been reduced to mere embers. When I took up this project, I had no planned number of articles or set length of time that I planned to write. As long as diabloii.net was around, I had hoped that Salem’s Fire would be around. Then graduate school hit. While it may be possible for some to work on a PhD and write a column every other week, I am not one of those ‘some’.
I thank all of you who have read my article over the past (almost) two years, and particularly those who took the time to write back. Some e-mails I could reply to, some I could not. I can honestly say, however, that I enjoyed reading them all. It truly is you, the readers, that makes any writing worthwhile.
It has been my honor and pleasure to be a part of diabloii.net, and I am grateful to Flux and crew for giving me the opportunity. I hope one day to return to writing about the things I love as I have done here, but not now. For now, exploring the mists of statistical analysis and making sense of seventeenth century theorists dominates my time. And thus, the fire goes out.
