Reaper of Souls and D3 PTR Hotfixes List

Blizzard has posted lists of hotfixes already made (and coming soon) to the Reaper of Souls beta and the Diablo 3 PTR. These are all related to various bugs that must be stomped out for the greater good, and there are plenty for the stomping: I had a number of crashes and other issues I’d never seen before playing RoS after the patch, though there was a lot of added content as well, hence more opportunities for things to break.

Incidentally, there are a lot of minor and some major changes in RoS with the patch, mostly to game balance, item drop rates, etc. We’ll post an article on those later today. For now, here are Blizzard’s to-be-updated hotfix lists. Diablo 3 PTR first:

No upcoming hotfixes to report at this time.

[LIVE HOTFIXES]

General:

  • Hellfire plans no longer cost Blood Shards and should now cost gold.
  • Monster density in Act I has been adjusted.
  • An issue where crafting certain items caused the server to crashed has been resolved.
  • Resolved an issue where the proc from Odyn Son could proc from itself.
  • Items above level 60 will no longer drop for players on the PTR.
  • Players can now gain Paragon levels on the PTR
    • Please note: Experience gained for paragon levels will not be reflected in the XP bar. When you gain a Paragon experience level, you will see a toast notification and the level-up explosion. In addition, the Paragon experience UI button appears, allowing players to spend their Paragon points. This is currently the only way to access the Paragon points UI. We are aware of this issue, and it will require a patch to fully resolve.

Monk:

  • Serenity – Tranquility: An error will no longer occur when a player takes damage while Serenity – Tranquility is active.

Click through for the Reaper of Souls beta hotfixes, most of which are identical to the PTR issues.

Below you will find a list of hotfixes recently applied or coming soon to the Closed Beta that address various bugs and mechanic tweaks.

These hotfixes should not require you to download a new patch for the PTR. Some of the hotfixes below will go live the moment they are implemented while others may require the restart of the game to go into effect. Please keep in mind that some issues cannot be addressed without a client-side patch. Also note that changes to certain abilities will not be reflected in its tooltip until a patch is issued.

  1. “Monster density in Act I has been adjusted.” as in lowered ?

    • yeah probably…I don´t think they want people to only farm act 1. If blizzard balances the monster density for all acts, then I am ok with that because it does get boring when you are repeatedly doing the same thing.

    • I can’t really tell this. However, in my experience A1 density right now is about at the level of the classic A1 without MP.

  2. The removal of items 61+ items dropping on the PTR should stop some of the whining

    • Have they stopped dropping ilvl 61-63 items that have clvl reqs of 60, or have they stoppped dropping items with clvl reqs of 61+?

I’m assuming the latter but the patch description is sloppy and unclear.

  3. And why my CRAFTED amulet from D3 vanilla ported to PTR is lv61 now, making it unable to use for me?

    • It’s a well known issue at this point that crafted amulets have too high level requirements. Many things are buggy or don’t work as intended. This is one of those things.

  4. To low droprate to craft anything! Did blizzard think that ppl will play this PTR?? Its sucks!

    • You’re not supposed to play it, you’re supposed to test it and write down your feedback on the official forums. If people don’t do this then things won’t get better. Posting here that the PTR sucks accomplishes nothing.

  5. Is anyone else having some queue issues? It’s not the waiting that I mind (they’re load testing after all!) but when I first try to connect to the PTR from the launcher, the queue time is very short, but when it hits ‘Authenticating’, nothing happens – it just seems to get stuck. If I cancel and retry, it ends up with a much longer queue (~30 minutes) and when I get to the front, it ends up asking for my authenticator and then gets stuck on ‘Authenticating’ again :/ Maybe it’s just really heavily loaded, will try later.

    • Yeah, sometimes that happens to me as well. Just wait at the authentication, eventually you’ll get in. Fortunately when I got stuck waiting for an additional 1 or 2 minutes was enough.

    • Yes. Don’t click cancel. Just wait a few minutes (or seconds for me). It is faster than canceling, waiting for the queue and typing the authenticator’s code.

  6. So is it just me or is there no chat for the communities?

  7. QUOTE

So is it just me or is there no chat for the communities?

If you click on the arrow at the top right corner of the chat a few times you can switch to the Community of Clan chat. I haven’t tried them though, so I have no idea if they work or not.
