The PTR has just been shut down in preparation for Patch 2.2 going live during tonight’s maintenance period. PTR Ended: Patch 2.2 Imminent:
In preparation for the launch of patch 2.2.0, we will be shutting down the PTR today at approximately 11:00 a.m. PDT. At that time, you will no longer be able to log in to the PTR client, all PTR accounts will be reset, and the PTR Feedback and PTR Bug Report forums will be marked as read-only.
Please note that any progress you made on the PTR will not transfer over to your Diablo III account.
Thank you to everyone who participated in this PTR and provided feedback. We look forward to releasing patch 2.2.0 to the public shortly!
My memory is that past PTRs ended days (weeks?) before the patch went live. The PTR for Season Two certainly did, as it ran during the prolonged (endless?) Season One and patch 2.1 was content complete weeks (months) before going live, and before it eventually went live those awkward three weeks before the end of Season One. Perhaps the current time table will become the new standard, but it seems rushed just like the month-shorter-for-no-apparent-reason Season Two.
Those ponderings aside, with all the great changes in Patch 2.2 we can’t really complain about it going live a month ahead of the usual schedule. Can we?
