PreOrder PS3 Diablo 3: Get an Infernal Helm

Blizzard has announced a preorder prize for the upcoming Diablo 3 Playstation 3 console game; a special in-game helm that can be worn from level 1, and grants an exp bonus to the user.

As foretold in ancient Horadric texts, Diablo® III is coming soon to the PS3™. The launch date still has yet to be announced, but you can prepare for it now AND receive this exclusive Infernal Helm in-game item in the process, simply by preordering Diablo III at your local retailer.

Wearable at level 1, the Infernal Helm confers a +EXP bonus to help you whip your new PlayStation® characters into tip-top shape. Plus, it looks sweet as hell (pun intended) on all five mortal heroes of Sanctuary—Witch Doctor, Barbarian, Demon Hunter, Wizard, and Monk. Keep in mind that the redeemable key for the Infernal Helm, which you will find in your preordered copy of Diablo III on launch day, will apply to all of your PS3™ characters, but will not transfer to any PC characters.

We’ll be announcing a launch date for Diablo III on the PS3™ as it gets closer. In the meantime, get your preorder lined up, and begin preparing your living room for the imminent arrival of your three closest demon-slaying friends.

You’re going to need a bigger couch.

This prize is for the Playstation version of the game; not something your current PC/Mac characters can use, and no, there’s still no release date. You have to kind of zoom in on the hat to make out the details, but it’s a sleek, elongated face covering thing, and there appear to be four little crystals in orbit around it.

Not that you’re going to much care how it looks in-game, if the exp bonus is good. I’ve worn the Cain’s Laurel helm on multiple new characters in the past, and I don’t even remember what color it is, much less whether or not I like the graphics.

  1. Still no incentive to buy the console version over the PC version (unless you want an offline mode and/or no AH.) I wonder how well they are predicting sales for this since most diablo fans already bought it. I just don’t see much of a market for a console version of D3 at this point.

  2. People are going crazy on the official forums… jesus people: it’s a +EXP bonus, not a +%EXP. This will likely be useful until level 10.

    • People overreacting and acting like trolls on the forums? Must be a day that ends in Y. And as stated below, no socket makes this thing runs out of usefulness pretty quickly. And no AH/trading makes Paragon even less important. I’m surprised they don’t go full troll and give out an Enigma.

      • Which is why I said level 10, since it’s pretty much were you can find socketed helms, no?

  3. Since that helm has no socket, it doesn’t matter anyway if it has +30% XP. Your profit: 1 Ruby.

  4. My issue with this is I bought the collectors edition for pc and the only extra I got was d2 ( still better than d3 )

  5. “The launch date still has yet to be announced, but you can prepare for it now”

By paying $60 for a game that, if it’s production even remotely resembles the PC version, will be out by the time everyone has a PS4 and PS3 games are 5 bucks ;P

  6. be interesting to see what Blizz talks about/promotes the most at BlizzCon
the D3 expansion or the PS3 version ?

ha, who am I kidding ?
Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft will get more exposure than the expansion

      • that horrible dwarf accent talking to you every 5 seconds during the video kinda ruins any chance of me ever playing that game.

    • We might see details of the Diablo 3 expansion (and the beta) well before BlizzCon 2013 in November.

  7. Hell! I’m crazy, completionist collector. I actually bought “The Heart of the Swarm” just to get the wings 😉
And now this. They are killing me. I would pre-order this, I would even buy PS3 if I could transfer this sweet, sweet helm to my PC characters.
And, yes, I play Diablo 3 to dress up my characters in cool armor. So there ;P

  8. D3 on consoles will be just for casuals. No AH, no trading means anyone will find all loot.

50 hours of play tops. Typical for a console game.

In the first 3 days everyone will be excited (all that great loot keeps dropping…) But by the second week you’ll finish it because of all gear already dropped…

For those still wanting to buy it: only do it when you want the couch play with friends and family…

    • Damn, 50 hours of gameplay with tons of cool loot dropping?

That sounds amazing compared to the PC version.
