Patch 1.0.7 Goes Live Tomorrow

News has hit that patch 1.0.7 will be hitting live clients tomorrow! You’ll notice the confirmation in the blue post below at the very end.

With the release of patch 1.0.7, we will no longer be reviving or undeleting DiabloWikiHardcore characters as part of an account rollback. This adjustment to our rollback service is being done for two reasons:

1) Hardcore characters were never intended to be revived or undeleted by an account rollback. Bringing Hardcore characters back to life via rollback really isn’t in the spirit of Hardcore (where death is permanent, no matter the circumstances); however, when we originally adapted our rollback services for DiabloWikiDiablo III, we didn’t have the technology to make Hardcore characters exempt. We’ve wanted to bring our rollback policies regarding Hardcore characters in line with the game for a while, and as of patch 1.0.7 we will have the tools to do so.

2) In recent months, we’ve discovered that some players who’ve lost Hardcore characters through normal gameplay will fake an account compromise and request a rollback through Customer Support in order to get their characters revived. Not only is this an abuse of the services we provide to the community, but it also impacts other players who have submitted legitimate inquiries by increasing wait times across the board.

Patch 1.0.7 is currently scheduled to release tomorrow in all regions. For more information about our restoration and rollback policies for Diablo III, please view the following Support articles:

  1. So excited. All of my favorite monk skills are getting huge buffs! And looking forward to crafting a 300 dex quadfecta amulet, of course.

  2. Looking forwards to NV carrying over acts, might be fun to keep going after Azmodan and pressing into Act 4. Maybe. I know there’s a lot of pointless super rares with crap loot.

  3. I always thought one cool addition to hardcore play would be to allow people to win “extra lives” (for lack of a better term) by completing some sort of repeatable epic quest. True hardcore death is when you number of lives remaining hits zero.

Another idea is when you have zero lives left, you are at-risk of permdeath but there its only a percentage chance.

  4. it’s be really interesting to see a character breakdown Tuesday night/Wednesday night and see how many people are playing Monk

  5. Great.

3 days of excitement (this day included) and 3 months of further whining…

What a great mentality these days.

  6. thats why i never play hardcore, if u cant accept perm death then why play it? thoose people faking should get banned nothing else… whiny kids that suck then dont play HC how hard is it ;P
