No Advance Reviews of Diablo III and Sigil Tech Problems

If there’s one consolation with Diablo III’s long delay and online-only mode, it’s that pissy professional critics didn’t get early access either. Oh, they were in the beta, but no one gets to play Diablo III early. No one.

The game isn’t live in the Americas region until 12:01 a.m. PDT, May 15. No one has early access.

In other news, the class sigil rewards on the Diablo 3 Reveal page had a lot of technical problems when the site first went live, and now that all 5 classes are available for people to make up the ones they missed… the problems have returned.

We’re aware you can’t currently complete a banner to claim a sigil, and are working to resolve the issue. We unfortunately don’t have an estimate at this time for when it will be resolved.

they should delay the game until this very important feature is fixed

  2. Well, it’s only a sigil. All beta testers should know how unimportant these things are. 😉

  3. Who cares being on the release!!! 12 hours to go!

  4. Like Blizzard needs reviews for their games….

  5. im not sure if i got the sigil, even though i wasted my half an hour creating 5 banners. I did get emails, 5 of them, saying the submission has been received. Is that enough to claim it or is there something else?

  6. Blah blah blah, just give me the game already.

  7. ‘course they didn’t give out any review copies. Blizzard lives on hype, they wouldn’t want to deal with critique.
That’s also the reason why many people won’t be buying the game right away 😀

    • Well if Blizzard allowed reviewers early access, you would have said that blizz bribed the reviewers or sway their opinion by giving ‘perks’…

  8. As one of those critics (thanks for painting us all with the “pissy” descriptor, btw 🙂 ), I’d like to point out that Blizz didn’t send out early review copies for their other big release, either (‘Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty’, back in 2010).

As someone else mentioned, it’s a way of keeping the hype controlled and at a level that Blizzard determines, without being colored by “pissy” reviews.

And, really… it’s ‘Diablo III’… of course it’s going to sell like crazy, regardless of the reviews.  😆

  9. What I don’t like is fact, that the whole sigil thing was supposed to be special reward, if you followed the whole uber-failed and boring “reveal” event. And now, everyone who buys the game can get those sigils, since they are obtainable until 18th.
