Gold and Real Money Auction House Now Live

Good news traders, both US Auction Houses are live once again, however there are a couple of temporary limitations still in place.

Maintenance has concluded, and both the gold and real-money Auction Houses are now live. Gold trades have also been reactivated. Please note that we have temporarily reverted the stack size for gold on the real-money Auction House from 10,000,000 to 1,000,000. (At the moment, there’s an active bug preventing gold stack sizes from displaying correctly in the Auction House at values higher than 1,000,000, so we’ve temporarily reversed this change the until we can fix it.)

Important: To help reduce load and improve the overall stability of the auction house system, the game may temporarily limit traffic to the auction house, especially following maintenance. This is done automatically, and players may occasionally see a grayed-out auction house button as a result. If the auction house button is grayed-out, please wait a few minutes and then try again.

  1. As everyone on the Americas realm has to repost all of their old expired auctions, much less try to sell off all the new stuff they’ve found in the past week, I can imagine new auctions being created will be far higher than usual. Maybe that takes more load on the system than simply counting down existing auctions?

  2. In before all the AH haters spam this about how the AH is bad for the game.

  3. Seems many players are experiencing that automatic server limiting. Looks like it may be limiting more than just the auction house access though. Many (ie. more than 1) players are getting disconnects from game and phased access to the diablo3 site.

  4. I’m not against the AHes at all, just don’t use them. Would have been nice though if Blizzard had of made the game with both sides of the players in mind, those that want to use the AH’s and those that don’t. Currently it seems to have been designed purely for AH flippers and those with Credit cards, mores the pity, don’t take this the wrong way.

  5. This game is such a fucking disgrace, they can’t even figure out how to make digits go past 1m w/o breaking something. Can you say dumbed DOWN!? Diablo 2 never had this issue. This issue is a symptom of Blizzard’s Greed and Bobby Kotick has ruined this series. EveryONE knows this gold pile issue is a ploy to get you to use their greedy RMAH. I can’t believe people fall for this Fascism. The world is ending people, WAKE UP. Also, they should have tripled Sleet Storm damage, just another design blunder in a series of many many mistakes. RMAH 3 is doomed to fail.

  6. The day-to-day 100k-1mi stuff kept the price and is selling faster.

The slightly better stuff doubled. The Ice Climbers I was looking for went from 6mi-10mi to 24-40mi. I’m seriously getting along with the slow barb now, since the pre-storm barb gear with gems costed ~12mi

Also, Flawless Square Gems had 50% gain.

    • I skimmmed the SC auctions but as I haven’t been playing SC for a while, I couldn’t see any real diff. Everything (except mats and gems) vastly cheaper than HC. Seems like Bliz must have purged much/most of the duped gold, or prices would have swung more noticeably. (As they probably will once the 10m > 1m RMAH change goes live.)

I noticed no real change in HC prices. I relisted 6 or 8 of my expired listings and 2 items sold for 4m+ over the next few hours, but as I checked various items the prices looked about the same as last weekend. I had wondered how people would know prices, since every auction expired and everyone sets prices based on comparable gear… but I guess most people did like me, and just relisted their expired auctions at about the same price, thus instantly re-establishing most of the baseline prices.

  7. What happened with people who were the winning bidders on a just-listed auction before the AH went down?
