Diablo Fan Art Watch #164: Blizzard’s Latest Batch III

Welcome friends to the latest installment of the Diablo Fan Art Watch. This week I bring you four pieces of artwork from Blizzard’s latest fan art blog post.

This week we have some amazing and detailed pieces from blizzard’s latest batch. We have King Leoric in a stylized almost cartoon feeling look but still awesome. Next up we have a piece that I believe should have been what Diablo’s latest incarnation would have been.

Following up there we have an amazing detailed piece featuring the Demon Hunter with the lighting effects reflecting the classes two resources. Last but not least is a Barbarian and Demon Hunter facing off with fallen demons in hell.

Art By: Liyao Yang, Jack Lee, Kreak, and Fabien Jacques.

If you enjoy Fan art and want to contribute to this growing community, please stop by the Fan Creations Forum. Many artists visit frequently, posting works in progress looking for feedback and conversation. You don’t have to be “arty” to join in. If you have any questions, comments or have some fan art related news on the web please send me a PM and I’ll get back to you.

The Diablo Fan Art Watch will now also be bi-weekly due to the high volume of incoming fan art. Twice as much art per week.

  1. I cannot rate the pictures when I click them open, it says “cannot rate this category”. I tried turning of noscript, but it still wouldn’t work, I guess its a problem at the site.

  2. I love all the artwork that’s being posted, the Demon Hunter pic is mindblowingly real!

  3. When you said the “Classes two resources” about the DH pic, I thought you were making a dirty joke

  4. Man, if only that ‘male’ Diablo was in the game, inferno would never be beaten…(OK, maybe not).

The Demon Hunter is damn sexy.

    Skeleton King is awesome.

Demon Hunter and Barbarian group shot – meh.

  5. That’s what Diablo should have looked like in D3.

    • 10.000.000 people (that’s the number of copies this game sold) would like to disagree with you bro. Sheablo was clearly the best way to go. Just stop and think about it for a minute… Diablo 1 (male) then Diablo 2 (male) *YAWWWWWN* Women are 50% of the population like it or not. Yet they are only represented 33.333% by Diablo incarnations and still people complain. I’m no feminist but I am glad they at least started to correct this discrimination. I am dismayed at the lows you people will sink to when bashing this game. Ask your mothers how hard it was coming up in a man’s word and maybe you will begin to understand how brilliant the developers were when designing this game. 10.000.000 copies and counting. Deal with it.

      • uhm… No leablo is lame 😐

        • Don’t disagree with me bro. Every forum post I win in Blizzard’s favor they cut me a check for 10$. Well… I haven’t gotten a check YET but I’m sure it’s coming. Probably won’t make anywhere near the TENS of MILLIONS they made on game sales but it’s still something.

          • You say they sold 10,000,000 copies. The game cost $60. I believe you meant HUNDREDS of MILLIONS.

But that is besides the point, quit trolling other people personal opinions. That’s what forums are for, a discussion. Your “Don’t disagree with me bro.” attitude makes you a troll.

Sheablo was lame. And by the time I got to it on my first playthrough I was disappointed with the visual effects, character model, and mechanics involved in the Diablo fight. It was a total let down.

There are plenty of female characters in the WoW franchise, along with Kerrigan from Starcraft. To leave Diablo as a hulking mass who actually inflicts terror seems like a better idea than the current “Eww gross look at her saggy tits” version that Blizzard came up with.

          • Not even a convincing troll this time brah

          • Spotting the real Thrall 101:

He puts a space before question mark ?

Often uses … , notice there’s a space on each side.

            Double enter after each sentence.

            Some words are SHOUTED.

There you go, that’s the real Thrall.

  6. Just looking at that Diablo art makes me upset. THIS is what Diablo should have been, a “Prime Evil”. That entire fight needed to be more epic for the amount of time Blizzard spent ‘polishing’ the game. Truly a disappointment.

  7. The Diablo on the Fan Art looks way too similar to the concept shown at GDC http://i.imgur.com/GjITX.jpg
