New Balance Changes

Patch 2.6.1 brought updates for class sets, Legendary items, and skills. Season 12 is the perfect time to dive in and start fresh—so grab a friend and get ready to play!

New Cosmetic Rewards

As per tradition, Season 12 will introduce new cosmetic rewards, obtainable by progressing through the Season Journey.

In addition to the Chest and Gloves slots of the exclusive Conqueror Set, a brand-new series of portraits themed around the High Heavens will be available. Those who enjoy collecting cosmetic wings will also be pleased to see a new arrival—Fiacla-Géar, which gives your character a distinctly angelic look.

If you’d rather max out your kill count with Cursed Chests, Curses! and Stars Alignwill be right up your alley. Those who enjoy seeing how far they can go without Set Items will get a kick out of The Thrill and Super Human. Finally, if you’re keen to show off your mastery of various Class Sets, Years of War and Dynasty will be available for you to attempt once more.

Haedrig’s Gift

Finally, just as before, you’ll get a shiny new Class Set courtesy of Haedrig’s Gift for completing certain chapters in the Season Journey. We’ve listed the available Sets below. For those new to Seasons, here’s how it works:

Completing Chapters 2, 3, and 4 of the Season Journey will reward you with three Haedrig’s Gifts. Each Gift contains a few pieces from one of your Class Sets. Players can only unlock one Class Set in this manner per Season across Hardcore and Non-Hardcore, so choose wisely!

The set you will receive depends on the Class of the character you’re playing when you open each Haedrig’s Gift. To collect a full Class Set, you’ll need to open all three on the same character.

Here are the sets granted by Haedrig’s Gift in Season 12:

  • Barbarian – Immortal King’s Call
  • Crusader – Seeker of the Light
  • Demon Hunter – Natalya’s Vengeance
  • Monk – Uliana’s Stratagem
  • Necromancer – Trag’Oul’s Avatar
  • Witch Doctor – Spirit of Arachyr
  • Wizard – Vyr’s Amazing  Arcana

  1. I know some folks like “Wings” in D3 but I think its the most UN-Diablo feature ever in the current iteration lol. And the upcoming season pushes this to the next level with mutated Double-Wings lol. It feels like D3 devs were working at MacDonalds before joining Blizzard – not even funny.

No one is wearing wings because the screen is already full of unnecessary explosions and other ridiculous over-the-top effects from classes that should dominate the physical realm such as the Barb, but no, barb now also has fire, lightning and Ice elements lol.

This really sucks, because Diablo will never feel like a real Diablo game again.

    RIP Diablo May 15th 2012

    • I like the wings…. it’s kinda refreshing, plus it works great with the transmog stuff. Fun building characters with a theme. There’s actually alot of people on the consoles who were the wings, more often than not.

The game still feels like a Diablo game, just more modern. RoS, Act V, and all the new areas they’ve add have really changed the game and what to expect.

      • Diablo 3 is a console action game. Nothing “Modern” about it. All this did is ruin one of the best PC franchises.

Diablo was always about very rare loot and when you found this awesome loot everyone would notice it on your character so it was “double-awesome”. At the same time, this super rare loot wasn’t necessary to play the game and beat it.

In D3 your gear is not visible to others because every noob uses transmogs, but then again the gear you find is not rare and everyone has it so might as well add transmogs since everyone has every single item without effort or time-investment. D3 blows in so many ways it’s sad.

D3 is the biggest disappointment of the decade in gaming, no matter how much propaganda and patch-work blizzard applies upon the fundamentally flawed D3.

        • Yeah, everyone would notice the super rare runewords and generic armor on your 12 pixel big character. Woah, wtf are you smoking man.

          • Full Sets had a shine effect that illustrated that you had a full set.

Items that were heavily sought after and were also distinguishable were:
            -Shako
            -Runewords with Auras
            -Occy
            -Death’s Fatom
            -Ondals Wisdom
            -Leviatan
            -Tyrael’s
            -etc

And then there were items that you could not identify on the wearer until that player attacked or killed an enemy and then you knew they had some specific item. All cool stuff.

  2. :D:D:D:D How are they still presenting this as if it’s any good? Wow, a new portrait frame that they probably already finished designing years ago, two pieces of a transmog that literally everyone and their grandma has had forever now. And some wings that you can buy in china, but I guess here they just release one per season, because fuck you!

  3. I´m still waiting for seasons to bring something new.
What about a season with no sets at all?
what about a season with paragon capped at 800 or without paragon at all?
What about a season without leg gems or augments?
    That could be really fun…

    • Yeah I hope if they keep seasons in D4 that they look at PoE’s leagues which add new game mechanics each time. Then if those mechanics prove to be good, they get rolled back into the base game.

  4. if you somehow shown me that barbarian picture with the wings 10 years ago and say to me this Diablo 3 season reward, I would of laugh so hard, however with the serious look on your face my laughter would turn in to cry.

  5. Some nice BS talk for a diablo “fan” site …

    • Being a Diablo fan doesn’t mean you will swallow everything with the name “Diablo” printed on it.

This site was born with D1+D2 and D3 changed everything because 99% of the people who worked on D1 and D2 didn’t work on D3. D3 is a decent noob-focused action-Hack&Slash game but its a terrible “Diablo game”.

D3 is by no means a bad game, it’s just a very poor “Diablo-Game”. IMO D3 has a lot of bad as well as good aspects, but the bad ones are so profound that it ruins the game for any real Diablo player.

  6. Unless Blizzard comes up with a good Diablo lore defense for the case of “wings” for earthly beings (ie: Diablo 3 players), then Diablo 3 had officially lost its (lore) soul.

Diablo always had been a war between forces of Heaven and forces of Hell (witness in Diablo 2 “the Pandemonium Fortress is the foremost bastion of Heaven in their war against Hell”).

Now, Blizzard is adding anything and everything (including “wings”) for the sake of pursuing profit.

  7. Awful lot of complaining from folks who don’t like the game, about free content that no one is requiring them to play.
