Diablo 3 Realms Down For Scheduled Maintenence Tomorrow Night

The US server has been down for a couple of hours, allegedly for the v1.0.2 patch, but if so there’s no official update yet.

There is an official update about a long downtime for scheduled maintenance tomorrow night.

We will be performing scheduled maintenance on Tuesday, May 29th. Maintenance will begin at 3:00 AM PDT and conclude at approximately 11:00 AM PDT. During this time, servers and many web services will be unavailable.

Thank you for your patience.

The starting time of 3am US West Coast is 6am US East Coast is noon Central Europe time. Add 8 hours and hope for the best. The patch basically includes everything we reported on last week.

Update 11:20 a.m. PDT: We are in the process of bringing the Diablo III servers online at this time, but please note that the gold auction house will still be down for maintenance (we’re in process of implementing additional performance updates).

We don’t have an estimate for when the auction house will again be available, but will provide an update in this thread at approximately 1:00 p.m. PDT.

    1. Where are you getting your times from Flux? 3am – 11am PDT is 6am – 2pm EST. The morning and early afternoon is wasted, but should be up by 2pm EST.

IMO – you should probably change your news heading.

        • The update I saw via D3 client listed it in CET times. And then I got the quote from our blue tracker, which is a post from US server with US times. And I just saw the numbers in it and didn’t note that the region had changed when I made this post.

This is what happens when I do news very quickly, while writing a longer news post to go up later, amidst a bunch of wiki updates, 3 hours past my bedtime.

          • Is it possible to edit the post to correct this? What people are getting at is, this maintenance was last night. As in, it will be over in ~30 minutes. Tuesday at 3AM isn’t tonight or tomorrow night but rather 7 1/2 hours ago.

    2. The launcher just updated the game and it shows the v1.02 patch log. Game version is now 1.02.9749.

    3. 8 hours of service downtime seems a too long for D3.

I have been a long time supporter of online only, but if this continues, it is a bit worrisome.   Here is hoping that it is just because of the game being so new.  My previous support was based on my assumption that there would be fewer players than the WoW fanbase, which would hopefully lead to a lower amount of server downtime.  That said, the D3 server capacity is probably nearing 7M people which is getting near WoW territory (which has extended server maintenance every Tuesday).

    4. To be honest, the patch I’m most interested in right now is one to stop the account hacking.  There are too many people saying they did the right things (unique password, spyware/virus checking, clean system, no dodgy web-sites/emails) and still got hacked.  I am wondering if I will even play once RMAH hits because it is going to draw criminals like crazy.
This should be priority #1 (and #2) for Blizzard rather than PVP or making legendary items shinier.  People are going to literally stop buying the game or playing if they cannot get this resolved.
If the statement is ‘WoW was an uncontrollable mess that we could never secure’ then I’m worried about D3.  WoW didn’t even have RMAH.

      • This is an issue that I am not on top of – have there been any cases (authentic cases mind you) where a hack occurred on an account using a mobile authenticator or authenticator dongle?

Because trust me… every time I have helped a “tech savvy” friend with a keylogger or a  phishing heuristic or anything else, they always say “oh no, I haven’t gotten ANY strange emails and my password is super secure”.  Meanwhile they are downloading torrents and unsupported WoW mods 24/7 and their password is diablo6969
