  1. Hate to break the bad news to you Flux but your calamity mats have been flitted away in vain, for the item has been nerfed into the abyss of uselessness and can now only affect a single monster on the screen at a time.

    • That doesn’t seem to be true, since I’ve found several since recording this podcast and with Calamity in my off-hand with Nat’s, everything on the screen gets the Marked by Death icon constantly?

      • oh ok great! I know in the PTR there were endless complaints because only 1 enemy would get marked for death by each cast of an AOE skill. Upon recasting the marked for death rune would switch to a new target, but always one.

Glad to hear the whiners won out and it didn’t go live like that! I thought it was an absurd nerf personally.

  2. I gotta agree with you on the addition of the arcane element to wizards. I love the idea of “arcane energy” as a 4th element so to speak, as well as many of the spells it birthed such as magic missile, arcane orb, arcane torrent, black hole, and slow time (which although not truly devoted to a particular element feels like an arcane type of spell). I love the fact that a wizards resource IS arcane power, and that the bodies of slain enemies faintly glow purple from the remnants of the energy. I have always wanted a ranged arcane wizard to be a viable build but alas that will never be.

At this point I just hope that if there is a D4 that they keep arcane as a damage type for the “wizard” class. I think it is a really cool concept that was well executed as part of the class fantasy, even if not in the gameplay itself so much.

  3. To me, the least iconic wizard skill is Familiar.

  4. the most iconic wizard skill is critical mass.

it is ironic they didn’t return that passive to the wizard and all the other classes got it now instead.

would be nice if they returned critical mass to the wizard so perma archon now would actually work properly.

  5. The chakram is a weapon Blizzard borrowed from the TV show Xena: Warrior Princess.
It’s probably a real waepon used in some areas, but the way it looks and works is exactly like Xena does it in that TV show.
