Diablo 3 Podcast #210: Top 10 Crusader Skills

  • 7:00 — Patch 2.4.2 on the PTR. Big changes to Spike Trap! Does any DH care? Also, Torment 11-13… Torment spam? Combine and condense to concentrate the community?
  • 13:00 — Wyatt Cheng’s massive blue post on changing the high end “meta” from the current boring/stationary 1 DPS + 3 support strategy.
  • 24:30 — Hardcore state of the game. Faster build up, but too much recovery time with such high level LGems + gear augments? HC vs. SC in Greater Rifts… actual death penalties for softcore?
  • 32:00 — Too much benefit to higher Paragon Levels make endless farming essential for Leaderboard (and incentivizes botting). How to limit? Cap on Paragon benefit for GRs? Reduced benefit from Paragons above 1000?
  • 36:30 — Crusader: class fantasy vs. changes to the class over patches/time. Completely lost the initial class theory?
  • 1:01:00 — Top two skills and big disagreements between James’ and Leviathan’s favorite Crusader skills.
  • 1:12:30 — Laws! Not on either top 10; can passive-style buff skills ever be cool enough to make anyone’s top 10?
  • 1:17:00 — Crusader Passives… decent variety and flavor, but too many are mandatory for particular builds with their ties to individual skills?
  • 1:22:00 — Steed Charge! If other classes had an animal form for their fast movement skill, what would they be?

    1. @ 13:00 : Best would be a balance, of cause, where the DPS/support-numbers won’t matter regarding the maximum power output potential. 4 DPS should allow easy groupings, while Supporter teams of 4 would have to be planned out well, to reach the same output as 4 DPS.

2/2 is a good step. Hoping it’ll be intermediary, though …

@ 32:00 : Imho a base design issue: Can not be remedied yet. … .. Not without expanding RPG-Part basics!

@ 36:30 : Again a base design issue. More defined social interactions between the elements could restore the fantasy.

@ 1:12:30 : A good buff design, would use more keys, to allow switching buffs [more or less] freely, depending on situation. But yeah, finding a way for an effective use of SoB in D2. (And am more busy awaiting D4-VR, right now, rather than to think back to D2)

Only more control in shaping a buffs functions playerside, would allow Laws making top10, I’d say.

1:17:00 : More flexibility is needed. On the WHOLE Passives design. Two Medals each slot, three steps each passive, would be the optimum possible right now – without deeper basedesign corrections, I dare to add.

1:22:00 : Black Panther for the WD. Makes him a real Rock-Cat 😉

    2. mOOOOOOOOOOOOOving 😀

    3. LOL … Yeah! But still no skillsystem revisions in sight … 🙁

      • Damn … Flux … please delete my last reply. I’ve accidentally ruined one flair of mysterie hanging left. Should have apologized at a latter time … 🙁
