Diablo 3 Developer Livestream Thursday June 18

play-your-way-thursdayBlizzard has announced their next livestream is coming up this week on Thursday. One of the developers is taking part, but he’s an environmental artist, not a designer, so it seems unlikely we’ll get new game info or breaking news about changes coming in the next patch, etc. Diablo 3 Developer Livestream Thursday June 18:

The votes are in for our next Play Your Way build, and by a very close 10 vote edge, the Monk will be making a triumphant return to our next livestream!

Here are the details:

  • What: Our eighth Play Your Way Thursday livestream
  • Where: http://www.twitch.tv/diablo
  • When: Thursday, June 18 @ 5:00 p.m. PT to 6:00 p.m. PT
  • Why: To by guided by the gods themselves.
  • For this stream, I’ll be joined by DemonCoyote#1661, environment artist Joshua Manning, and renown Twitch streamer Quin69! We’ll be tackling Nephalem and Greater Rifts with a three Monk, one Barbarian group, pushing ourselves to the limits and seeing just how many times I can die far we can go in one hour. I’ll be running the fast-paced generator build DemonCoyote submitted to win the vote and talking about all the creepy environments, including the Cesspools and many of the areas in Act V, that Josh has had a hand in crafting!

It could be interesting to hear some details about the art and level design and such, but it’s not exactly Wyatt or Travis dropping new info on the next patch. Also, what do you bet they hit the Rifts and get like, Act 5 bone sewers and Act 1 caves for about eleven straight floors… and then the hour’s over?

“Oh look! More rocks! I drew those rocks!”

    1. They really need to beef up their play your way characters so we don’t have to watch Nevalistist die constantly.

    2. so its not just me then huh? I freaking hate the bone sewer map and I get it all the freakin time.

      • The a5 bone sewer is hands down my least fave tileset/map. Big, spread out, low density, boring visuals… Only good part is a lack of doors to open.

I used to try to race through it just to get to another level, but it’s usually very long and has a lot of dead ends, so I’d wind up spending 3-5m flying through and find an exit with about 68% completion. Total waste of time, compared to almost any other map. So now I’ve resigned myself to trying to full clear it, and clearing it as I go. Easier/faster to get 100% in it and start a new game than to try to guess my way to rushing through it and taking nearly as long to reach 70%.
