Are you one of those gamers who has either lost your copy of the original Diablo or not even played it? There’s some good news today as the original Diablo has now been made available on GOG.

Diablo 1 is an absolute classic, it’s why most of us love the franchise. It was an amazing game when it was released and set up the excellent sequel. From today,  Diablo 1 is available on GOG for the price of £7.89 ($9.99) and once again proves that GOG is an excellent service for those of us who love older games.

There are a few things to note with this release because there are two versions of the game in the launcher. The original with Battle.Net support called Classic and an updated version which does not have Battle.Net support but does have TCP/IP connection support for up to four players. The new version also comes with high-resolution support with upscaling and Windows 10 support. There are also bug fixes which have been applied by Blizzard.

“We were bummed that these iconic games weren’t available to our players, so we‘re very happy to work with the crew at GOG.COM to rectify that,” said Rob Bridenbecker, Vice President and Executive Producer, Blizzard Entertainment. “This has been a long time coming and we hope our players will be excited to jump back into these classic titles.”

In related news, this deal between GOG and Blizzard will bring re-releases of Warcraft: Orcs & Humans and Warcraft II at some point in the future.
