David Brevik Reflects on Diablo 3 Comments in Interview

In the latest Up at Noon show on IGN, David Brevik sits down and talks more about Marvel Heroes but he also touches on his time working on Diablo/Diablo 2, their plans they had for Diablo 3 as more open world MMO as well as commenting on our interview which caused such a fuss following Jay’s comments on Facebook.

David’s comments on his time at Blizzard and the Diablo series start at around 13 minutes and you can watch the whole interview for more on his Marvel Heroes project at Gazillion.

  1. David comments on comments in a commentary, come on!

  2. The truth hurts sometimes!

  3. Literally… that was painful to watch. (everything but the brevik stuff)

    • Greg Miller is so unfunny it’s actual painful to watch. Plus, he looks like a dyke.

      • Never seen that IGN before. Does he always dress like a poofy cosplay of Hitman? But that “interview” lowered my IQ. Paraphrasing: “someone said something and there were Facebook posts… what do you think, Dave?” And then so given free reign to avoid issues/controversy, Dave says PR-friendly words of no real substance.

A half-decent interviewer, one with enough hair to keep his brain warm, would have made that a really interesting follow up. “Jay Wilson obviously took your comments about the great team you had making D2 as an insult towards the team who made D3 at Bliz Irvine. Did you mean your comment as a barbed insult towards the new D3 team, do you think the generally negative fan reaction towards D3 speaks poorly of the devs, and what did you think of the lead dev of D3 calling you an “f’ing loser’?”

Now that’s a question I’d have love to hear Dave answer. Not this giggly eunuch homunculus’ bullshit jibbering.

        • plus, i, as non native speaker have serious problems understanding some of his lines. it would have helped if he spoke slower and somewhat clearly.
just, you know, besides all the clothing and integrity issues.

        • Dammit Flux I spewed coffee while reading this! “Poofy cosplay of Hitman” and especially “giggly eunuch homunculus'”.

Yeah, whoever that guy is he is intensely irritating, and I have no desire to watch that, or him, ever again.

        • Its supposed to be funny show, you guys take it way too seriously…

        • Haha, not that I’ve ever seen his show before.. and not that I found it funny. But your comment on here.. wow. They’re coming from Flux! Irony at its best.

        • @Flux: Shut up dude. Your rabble-rousing is bullshit. It’s meant to be a funny show and THANK GOD your question wasn’t asked.

You make a biased, judgemental comment call names at a show and a host you have no knowledge about. How are you any better than “Fuck that loser” Wilson?

  4. Couple of amendments to what was said in the vid. The interview was day 2 and Dave was asked before cameras went on if he would answer the questions honestly and not PR spin and he said yes, he was fine with doing that. So we got what we got and not what I just watched.

  5. Has he been eating the blue smarties, he’s like a 12 year old at a birthday party. I hope I don’t ever need to watch one of those again.

  6. His show was not funny, and i watched it all (ok skipped parts because i was getting irritated).

His journalism was not my preference. I hated it, but that is a personal opinion.

    I like Jay Wilson,

    I like Brevik,

    get over it!

  7. @Flux- The guy is bald because he has cancer you sack of shit- good job mocking him for his look. Why don’t you go down to the Chemo ward and make fun of them there to look cool.

    • flux references his brain, not his baldness.

it’s sad if he has/had cancer, but there is no sign or anything telling us this is the case.

cancer is no excuse for making a bad show.

      • Flux DID refere to his baldness. Don’t you know what Hitman is ? Or did you not understand the “enough hair to keep his brain warm” sarcasm ?

However, there was no way Flux could have guess this guy was in chemo, so FYI’s lecture was kind of pointless.

    • He mocked him for his interviewing skills/personality, not that he has cancer. Dramatic much?

    • there are children in other countries being forced to kill people and this guy interviewing is wasting time and air on a video game instead of doing something really important. if he used his influence for something good then perhaps we would have better educated people about world events.

and on a side note, why should i care if he has cancer. I am sorry, but i have enough crap in my life that I just do not care if he has cancer or not. Several people have died from cancer in my family. So what?

I know it is super incentive but really, he has cancer oh well, he has cancer that is his problem, his life.

he is still a bad journalist.

      • @Mike Darling
“there are children in other countries being forced to kill people and this guy interviewing is wasting time and air on a video game instead of doing something really important. if he used his influence for something good then perhaps we would have better educated people about world events.”

If you are such a bleeding heart then why are you wasting time on the computer when you could be doing something meaningful? Hypocrite.

  8. Nothing to see here except some OLD glory in vain wanting to talk about the past and spitting on the present day Blizzard…

    As usual.
