D3 Console Community Buff Weekend

Blizzard is rolling out some love for the console players this weekend, with a community buff to exp or goblins, depending on the platform.

Heads up, heroes. In celebration of the arrival of patch 2.1.0, all players who log into Ultimate Evil Edition this week will receive a temporary in-game buff!

To learn which buff applies to your platform of choice, read on below.

PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360:

  • Prepare to be enlightened. For a limited time, enjoy a +100% bonus to EXP! This bonus will stack with other existing bonuses in the game including (but not limited to) those provided by items, shrines, and Pools of Reflection.
  • PlayStation 4 and Xbox One:

  • Double your treasure, double your fun. For a limited time, all Treasure Goblin spawns in the game have been doubled!
  • This bonus EXP and double Treasure Goblin period begins in all regions today, October 10, at 12:00 a.m. PDT and will end Friday, October 17, at 12:00 a.m. PDT. For time zone assistance, please visit: http://everytimezone.com/

*Buffs apply to Ultimate Evil Edition only.

Why not double goblins and exp for both? I mean, is there a technical reason or what? As far as I know PS3/Xbox360 didn’t get Patch 2.1, but there are still Treasure Goblins there, albeit much less exciting ones with no chance to spawn DiabloWikiGreed’s Domain.

    1. Because they're focusing entirely on console right now.

      • Flux was asking why the different console generations get different buffs, not why PC didn't get any. (The answer to which is obvious: PC already had them when ROS and 2.1 launched.)

    2. PS3/360 – as you said, do not have the 2.1 patch. The buff they're getting now is the same buff that we got the week before RoS launched.

PS4/One – I remember when 2.1 was being datamined that these new crazy community buff types were in there. Previously we only had the XP buff.

Answer two: a subtle nudge that Bliz prefers you play on the newer hardware.

    3. I was playing this morning on the PS3 and noticed what seemed like a very high Legendary/Set drop rate, the likes which I have never seen, while rifting in act 3 torment 1. I found 10 in about an hour…
I saw nothing stating this and thought it was strange to see the little chest icon in the corner of my screen. I had to find out from my son what was going on. I am getting better xp, but I'll have to keep playing to see if these drops are more then just random.
