Book of Cain Q&A: Video

Nizaris brought us a first hand account, plus photos, from the DiabloWikiBook of Cain signing at Book Soup in West Hollywood last weekend. In his report Nizaris mentioned some of the Q&A details, including a tidbit about how Blizzard is still hashing out details of “the [[Abyss]],” which is apparently where the various Prime and Lesser evils are banished to when they are defeated in the mortal realm.

If you want more details on that issue, plus other Book of Cain topics, check out the video of the Q&A from the signing. It runs 16 minutes, and the sound is pretty good. Thanks to HolyKnight for the tip.

  1. That was cool…Thanks for the post

  2. I am really disappointed that they have completely got rid of Izual.  I always thought it was a great story twist that the Prime Evils had manufactured their own exile. The only thing I can hope for is that they are trying to save that reveal for later, but I an’t holding my breath.

    • Um…I think they specifically mentioned at Blizzcon 2011 that Izual was going to return in D3. There is also speculation going on in the forums as to what exactly his role could be.

      • Yeah he might be in the game but he for sure doesn’t have the same story, otherwise the Book of Cain would have talked about him in the dark exile.  Also when I spoke to Leonard Boyarsky (at blizzcon 2011, if you want to hear me talk about it listen to the podcast that took place after blizzcon) and asked him about it he said that it wasn’t said but it was hinted to.  We all know that Izual said:

“Tyrael was a fool to have trusted me! You see, it was I who told Diablo and his Brothers about the Soulstones and how to corrupt them. It was I who helped the Prime Evils mastermind their own exile to your world. The plan we set in motion so long ago cannot be stopped by any mortal agency. Hell, itself, is poised to spill forth into your world like a tidal wave of blood and nightmares. You and all your kind… are doomed.”

I don’t know about you but that’s not a hint.  That line of dialog is the most important line in the game, story wise, and they just threw it away.  Cain was there so there is no reason why he would not talk about it in his book.

  3. cool a book, wheres my d3beta?? or retail..
    P.S.- Sorry if I wasn’t clear.. I don’t read, I play games.

  4. Kills me that there were people asking about the game mechanics for the book signing.

  5. Good stuff! Probably gonna buy Book of Cain now.

  6. This lack of news is disturbing.

  7. let me just say i’ve been a fan of Diablo since 1996 and it was one of the first games i played online. Not only was the game addicting but the lore behind this game is probably the best I’ve seen. I just bought the book!

  8. The guy who asks the first question about the release date (around 7:18) has a dog with him in the bookstore!!  😀
