For the first time Blizzcon will facilitate community chats.  Rather than Blizzard Dev-led panels these will take the form of officially arranged 50 minute chats where fans of each game can meet up to discuss a certain aspect of the game.  Here’s what Blizzard had to say:

In keeping with that tradition, at this year’s BlizzCon we’ll be facilitating the first-ever BlizzChat: Community Live! Attendees will be given a venue to discuss a number of focused topics pertaining to the Diablo, StarCraft, and Warcraft universes and gameplay.

There’s no mention of any developers being present and there probably won’t be but there will likely (I imagine) be a Blizzard community manager to keep discussions on topic (and civil).

Below are details of the Diablo specific chats, the interesting one being the PVP session booked for the end of the first day. Nothing much, other than it’ll be in the game, is known about PvP but with a 50 minute fan-led chat session scheduled it suggests the Diablo III Dev Panel earlier in the day will reveal enough to talk about at length.

    Diablo III: Gear and Items – 3 p.m. to 3:50 p.m.
    Diablo III: Gameplay and Systems – 4 p.m. to 4:50 p.m.
    Diablo III: PvP – 5 p.m. to 5:50 p.m.

    Diablo III: Classes – 1 p.m. to 1:50 p.m.
    Diablo III: Lore and Story – 2 p.m. to 2:50 p.m.
    Diablo I, II, and Expansions – 5 p.m. to 5:50 p.m.
