Blizzard’s begun to post web content, celebrating their twenty years as a video game creating entity. There’s a shiny main page page with links to Videos, Interviews, Behind the Scenes, and more. It’s kind of a nothing burger at this point, with just the Videos link active, and the only video an introduction featuring a chatty DiabloWikiMike Morhaime and a pissed off-looking DiabloWikiFrank Pearce. They talk about “the three of us founding the company twenty years ago” and show cutely-nerdy photos of themselves and the fellow co-founder, who is never mentioned by name.

It’ll be interesting to see how this feature develops; what sort of coverage will Diablo and Blizzard North get, given that all the creators are long gone? Will these movies document the good and the bad, and discuss failures like Warcraft Adventures and Starcraft Ghost as well as shining their own badges about Starcraft and WoW? Or will all the interesting twists and turns of the past 15 years get the same treatment as Allen Adham in this intro video?

There’s undoubtedly enough material and human drama for a great documentary about Blizzard Entertainment; let’s hope some of it turns up in this anniversary retrospective.
