Blizzard’s Holiday Vacation Commences

A happy holidays post from one of the D3 CMs lets us know that Blizzard’s fallow season has commenced.

The Community team will have a reduced presence on the forums, Twitter and Facebook over the holidays while we unwrap Winterveil presents and ring in a new year with friends and loved ones. We resolve to be back the first week of January. In the meantime, whether in Sanctuary, Azeroth, Mar Sara or beyond, we hope that you and yours share in the warmth of the season… and may all your loot be epic.

Remember that Greatfather Winter and the Mod Squad are still watching, so be sure to stay on your best behavior. See you next year!

Some people noted this back in Oct and Nov during our “when might D3 be released?” debates — the fact that almost all of Blizzard employees take a couple of weeks off around the end of the year. In light of that, any late December or early January release dates seemed highly unlikely. Alas.

  1. Last I checked, D3 wasn’t finished…. get the hell back to work.  😀   (half j/k’ing)

    • Blizzard should only get chistmas weekend off new year’s weekend off. It’s angers me that they are taking over a week off when they still have a job to do. They had better be invigorated after the break.

  2. But? This can’t be! SWTOR is out! They must release! OMFGWTFBBQ!

  3. I really don’t see this game getting released anytime earlier than March since they usually don’t release their games within 8 weeks of announcing them.  The beta got really boring. I maxed it out and there is nothing really left to do.  Got rid of Skyrim.

When is Torchlight 2 coming out? Hopefully they get it out before March to fill the action RPG void and so it potentially increases their sales. It would be nice if Torchlight had a more sinister atmosphere though and better art style. I feel as though i am too mature to be playing the game. That is why Diablo holds better with me and I am not talking about the WoWified art style and atmosphere of Diablo 3.

I am getting Deus Ex Human Revolution to hold me over until these games and then finally Guild Wars 2 comes out.

The Old Republic just seems too expensive and boring for me plus I find MMORPGs other than Guild Wars very boring.

    • Dude yes, TorchLight 2 seems somewhat “kiddy” in the art department. Not only that, but the style makes me go “WTF?!?!?” … but… it was simple for them to make for a quick release to build cash, so, I understand. Still cheesy though. 🙁

    Is that even possible?

  5. path of exile closed beta isn’t half bad at all, you should check it out if you can.. something to “fill the void”. 8)
