The Overwatch entry in Wikipedia states:

In modern warfare, overwatch is the state of one small unit or military vehicle supporting another unit, while they are executing fire and movement tactics. An overwatching, or supporting unit has taken a position where it can observe the terrain ahead, especially likely enemy positions. This allows it to provide effective covering fire for advancing friendly units. The term overwatch originates in U.S. military doctrine.

So perhaps a strategy game. They’ve been there before and, as you’ll remember, Jay Wilson was moved From Diablo 3 to another unnamed project and with his background rich in the strategy genre he could be heading up this new Overwatch team. If not strategy then perhaps a new arena for Blizzard with a shooter title but they never struck me as a shooter outfit. Although they did have a stab at it with Starcraft: Ghost but shelved it. I’m hopeful it’ll be something outside of the existing three franchises whatever it is.

  1. how come your post count is always 0

  2. Strategy title +1

  3. What’re you talking about Elly, it’ll be a WoW x-pack 😉

  4. D3v3.0 sign of release¿

  5. It could be a WoW expansion. I doubt that name has anything to do with the Diablo franchise. Perhaps it could have for Starcraft?

how come your post count is always 0

because its a forum bot lol.

  7. interesting bot

    it replies to posts

    http://diablo.incgamers.com/forums/showthread.php?854367-Patch-today&p=8619638#post8619638

it starts posts where it claims to lead two clans

“I just logged on and did a count of the most recent class played by all the members in the 2 clans I lead: IncGamers Hardcore EU and IncGamers HC West US. “

    http://diablo.incgamers.com/forums/s…-Class-Balance

and it makes some very detailed posts

If it’s just Elly and Flux posting then why not use their names here?

These very same articles use their names as the authors when they are posted on the front page

  8. Guys, Hound is a service used to transfer news items from the front page into a thread here for discussion. Elly or Flux post the news item and the Hound service copies it here. No big deal, no state secrets here. Sorry to rain on the parade, lol

    • @Dacar Noooooooooo the illusion is shattered. The posts are generated by the secret squirrels working under the cover of night. Remember?

  9. So that’s what that weird scratching noise was!

  10. What procedures are required for registration of a trademark?

  11. Does Activision purchase trademarks for their games? If I had to take a stab, and this is a blind stab at that, they are going to develop a PC based game for one of their FPS games(surprised there is not more crossover already). Blizzard would be the choice to develop and produce the platform.

It does not sound like a WoW title by any means. It really doesn’t fit the naming convention for titles over the years.
