The details released today are for both Windows and Mac and you can find them all after the break along with a link to their new tech support section for the Beta. Thanks Kuangtu.

  1. and people are buying 6 core 16gb computers with 6000 series video cards in anticipation. too bad for them!

    • Their choices are not in vein. Recommended specs here are being very modest. The game will in fact require at least a 67xx/480 series card to run at 60 FPS combined with a Phenom II X4 9xx or i5 2500k. These specs are giving the minimalist hope as they show that D3 will run at about 40 FPS max with the Recommended Specs.

      • So you’re telling me that I need to get that hardware to run StarCraft II? Because the system requirements look to be about the same. (And I run StarCraft II on Ultra graphics @ 1080p. On a 4 year old system. 🙂 )

    • I think those people will have the last laugh when Skyrim comes out though.

  2. I should be able to MAX everything on this too.  Since I can on SC2.  Can’t wait.
Also, is this site going to have BETA keys to give out?  Or are they still on Blizzards ****list?

    • Well this site did not agree to be one of their fawnsites so no. Unless Flux can bribe, steal, fornicate,  or most likely hyperventilate, to get us some beta keys we are s.o.l. UNLESS he has some super generous contact with someone in Blizz to get some keys!!!! *puts on tin-foil hat* 😯

  3. So people uploading lower specs than recommended to get considered into the beta, will they even be looked at by blizzard?

    • that is a REALLY good question

    • Most likely.  As a PC developer it is in Blizzard’s best interest to test on as many hardware configurations as possible.

While they have already done that to a degree (which is why we have these specs in the first place) there are so many possible hardware combinations out there especially when you consider different brands.

    • Too German : didnt read ;
according to the  certificate in F&F the Beta client , they (german fansite) speculate that diablo 3 releases 06.dec.2011
because that certificate is in effect from 01.jan.2010 to 06.dec.2011

  4. ughhh…. I don’t quite meet the recommended. It might be new computer time…

  5. Why do the minimum specs only specify 64 bit processors and the recommended specs a 32 bit? Am I getting this wrong? I have the specific processor they mention in the recommended specs, so I guess I shouldn’t worry, but this is confusing me, I thought 64 bit processors were more powerful :/

  6. @beaulne
these specs are just for the beta, where there isnt fsaa or any dx11 stuff

  7. My current semi-shitty computer can probably max it. No surprise but nice to know besides the fact that it could be prettier. Looks good enough though. I think. 🙄

  8. Anyone know where the 260 fits on this chart?
I’m not sure how it compares with 9800.

    • PassMark – G3D Mark
      GeForce GTX 260 : 1739 pts
      GeForce 9800 GTX : 1132 pts

If you are comparing both GTX versions then the 260 is better by a reasonable margin. However I wonder why you are asking yourself that question ? I hope you are not planning on buying a GTX 260.

      • I happen to have the 9800 and I didn’t know how it compares. The numbering is pretty confusing to me. Thanks for the info, and it looks like I’ll have to get a new card!

  9. im trully impressed. titan quest looks better than diablo 3 and the recommended specs are much less. just confirms my suspicions that the d3 engine is crap

  10. I find it strange how this game requires high-range GPUs from several years ago and not mid-range, and such a high CPU too, considering the low detail in the graphics and the somewhat simple graphic technology.
These requirements are actually quite similar to Battlefield: Bad Company 2.
    Maybe bad optimization?

    • Battlefield bc2’s system requirements are a total lie.  The recommended system runs the game like garbage on any kind of reasonable settings above low.  The minimum specs?  They run like 15 fps.
And quite honestly, they recommend a “high end” card from past generations because this way you will be able to find some kind of review to compare your much newer low end card to.
I’m glad my brother purchased my old GTX 260 from me to replace his junk 7300GT that he was using.  Now he’ll be able to play diablo 3 just fine when it comes out.

  11. Too bad my computer doesn’t meet the minimum.  I was looking forward to the game, but I don’t think I’m going to invest in a computer just to play D3.

  12. I have never drop below 120 fps with my system on max settings so far.

    My System Specifications

    Operating System:
    Windows (Service Pack 1)
    CPU Type:
    Intel® Core™ i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67GHz
    CPU Speed:
    2.69 GHz
    System Memory:
    5.99 GB
    Video Card Model:
    ATI Radeon HD 5800 Series
    Video Card Memory:
    2.74 GB
    Video Card Driver:
    Primary Display Resolution:
    Secondary Display Resolution:
    Hard Disk Size:
    931.51 GB
    Hard Disk Free Space:
    892.58 GB (96%)
    Download Speed:
    2.42 MB/s (20.3 mbps)

  13. wow i have exactly the recommended GPU…….. maybe should upgrade it if it is not too expansive.

  14. I have been checking the various postings of the system requirements for DIII lately and am still a bit confused. Anyone know how my ATI Radeon HD 4350 may stack up? Any information will be appreciated  😀

    • I’ve just checked mine (an ATI Radeon HD 4330, close enough to yours ^^), and it is actually worse than the minimum card listed. However, several lists state that mine (so yours as well) will still run D3 at minimum graphics. Just google something like “Diablo 3 Mobility Radeon 4350”.

  15. I found the broadband requirement and the statement about how some wireless may not reach the requirements strange given that Blizz said that it would probably work on dial up lol.

  16. Um, my macbook pro’s cd/dvd drive is broken. Will the game also be available as a download? Or if it isn’t would I need to have the disk in my computer while playing? Otherwise I could borrow an external disk drive to install the game. Hope this is gonna be possible! 😕

  17. does i can get beta key with
    Intel® Pentium® 4 CPU 2.66GHz ??
