Another Post from Blizzard on Diablo Projects

Blizzard went rather quiet after BlizzCon but we know there are other Diablo projects in the works. A further post from Blizzard today reiterates that.

We continue to read feedback and our internal discussions are ongoing. We have many plans for Diablo across multiple projects which we’ll be revealing over the course of the coming year. We are eager to share more about all of our projects, but some will have to wait as we prefer to show you, rather than tell you, about them. It’s going to take some time as we strive to meet your expectations, but now, more than ever, we are committed to delivering Diablo experiences the community can be proud of.

  1. Uhhh… Nope, don’t really buy it anymore… Nope! But they’re right about show don’t tell, it’s the only saving option now. Too bad I don’t expect they can deliver it right anymore.

    • Well, if we can agree on anything, than it’s for Blizzard to take its time afterwards to not slither into any further WoW-Striketeam activities due to financial pressure made by the company side. Polishing up and making things playable intuitively are some of things, Blizz Irvine is best in. I’d wish for more brainpower of Blizz North being incorporated again regarding engine and skillsystem design and optimization, though … They were [, and some still are] the Best in regards of designing complexity to the degree above the 5!-limit of social interconnections able to be put into the four elements frame with user driven character development.

      Just my 2 cents …

      KÆoS

  2. “many plans for Diablo across multiple projects” — be nice if they had said “across multiple platforms”

sure, that could mean consoles, but it would give more hope of a pc game

“revealing over the course of the coming year” — hope that doesn’t mean waiting 13 months for the next BlizzCon, but it probably does

I’ve been watching twitch streams of Lost Ark and that game looks amazing — not talking about the graphics, but the game play, boss fights and PvP

have also seen some twitch streams of the beta for “Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem” which looks ok

and of course Grim Dawn coming out with new expansions

and there’s always Path of Exile too

would be nice to hear about D4 coming to pc, but I’m not going to miss it if I have to wait two years

  3. Time to change their name to Bliz-z-z-z-ard

  4. ‘… over the course of the coming year …’. Sigh.

  5. I don’t want anymore DAMN card games. I don’t want anymore DAMN mobile games. I don’t want anymore DAMN shooters. I don’t want anymore DAMN microtransactions. I don’t want anymore ANYTHING from Blizzard that isn’t an ARPG in the Diablo universe.

  6. Fixed Version:
We continue to IGNORE feedback and our internal discussions are about MONETIZATION. We have ONE plan for Diablo across multiple FORMATS which we’ll be revealing AT BLIZZCON 2019. We are DREADING having to share more about all of our projects, but some will have to wait as we FEAR MORE BACKLASH. It’s going to take some time as we strive to LET YOUR OUTRAGE DIE DOWN, but now, more than ever, we are committed to delivering Diablo experiences WE CAN MAXIMIZE PROFITS ON.

  7. So, now they announce that they are going to announce something. That way they can change the actual content of the announcement at the last minute without being trapped by having announced exactly what they were going to announce. A zero substance announcement that followed a zero substance blizcon that people paid for, well at least they got the con bit right.

  8. They way they are going about all this is so rigid. It’s so obvious they only care about the monetary aspect.
