+50% Experience Bonus From Friday to Monday

We had a 100% bonus experience weekend just prior to release of Reaper of Souls and now we have a +50% bonus from Friday to Monday.

Over 1.5 million players around the world have stopped Death since Reaper of Souls™ launched last Tuesday, March 25. To celebrate this achievement and help support your ongoing crusade against the forces of evil, all nephalem who log into Diablo III this weekend will receive a +50% bonus to XP! This bonus XP period begins in the European region tonight, April 4 at 17:00 p.m. CEST and ends on Monday, April 7 at 5:00 a.m. CEST. Thank you so much for being a hero of Sanctuary. We hope you have fun this weekend, and we’ll see you in Westmarch!

Due to time zone differences, the bonus started 5 hours earlier on the EU server than on the US server, which led to some worries that it was a bonus even only for Europe. Not to worry!

So if you have suffered an unfortunate hardcore loss recently due to the recent connection and lag issues this weekend will be a welcome leg up. Anyone planning to do some major grinding to take advantage of this buff?

Note that it’s not 50% multiplying your total EXP. It’s just another 50% of the sort you get from going up in difficulty levels. So now you’ll get 250% instead of 200% for Master, 350% instead of 300% for Torment 1, etc. That value does get multiplied by your +EXP gear (such as Hellfire Rings and Ruby helms) and the multiplayer bonus (10% per player) though, so it can add up to a considerable bonus.

  1. I’m in to this.

  2. Yeah. Just spent 5 hours of time I didn’t have to spare:) I just can’t resist a bargain, that’s the problem.

    False. T1 is +300%, or x4. I just looked, and with the bonus it’s +500%, or x6. x4 * 1.5 = x6. Multiplicative.

  4. Nice. I guess I’ll be playing more this weekend than I had planned. Already got a bunch of paragon levels tonight and may level some of my lvl60 characters to 70 – a lot less of a chore with the buff active. One of my characters suffered a really obnoxious lag death though and lost a few pools of reflection (I know HC deaths hurt more but death is death). It really bothers me because lag spikes seem to hit me only when I engage an elite pack, and completely without warning. It was an easy fight, too. What a waste.

  5. I’m at 100 paragon, all though my only two classes, Demon Hunter and Barb. I’m the type of person that chooses one or two classes, and pretty much ignores the rest of the game. I probably miss out on a lot of good experiences. (There’s still 3 classes in D2 I never leveled past 30)

So, instead of spending this weekend trying to get my 100 paragon up to say, 115 with this experience bonus, I spent the weekend leveling two classes I’ve never played before (Wizard and Monk).

Because there’s no restriction on the level of gem a socket can have, any low level socket item allowed me to create very overpowered low level characters that can comfortable farm Master and T1 bounties. My wizard and Monk both gained about 50 levels this weekend. I felt like I’d never invest the time to level those two classes, pre-expansion, pre-adventure mode.

So to me, this was a productive weekend. I look forward to the next XP bonus weekend so I can work on a WD and Crusader.
