2009’s Biggest Delays

1up.com has posted their list of 2009’s biggest delayed games. Nothing from Blizzard is covered in the body of the article, but both Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3 earn a mention in the concluding paragraphs.

We also saw plenty of games that we all thought were due this year, but developers held back on giving any word of a release date until finally announcing them for 2010. We started the year sure that Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3 were coming. In fact, we even put them on our Most Anticipated of 2009 list around this time last year. But it was not to be, and both of them are due in 2010, if not later.

Yeah… I’m going with the “if not later.” option, personally. 🙁

  1. Why do people keep asking?

Diablo is not permanently dead. It was explained in the lore that the Prime Evils can never truly be killed. When defeated, they are merely casted back to the deepest depth of hell and reincarnated once more.

Diablo WILL BE returning. Death is no more than a minor setback for him (her? it?).

That’s the original purpose of the soulstones: to capture the Prime Evils and keep them sealed. If death could be so easily inflicted upon the Prime Evils, why would the Horadrim mages go through such length to keep them imprisoned?
